New to the area

Just moved up to Reno. I see a bunch of WRXs and STIs around. I drive a black '04 wagon. I'm lowered a little with stock rims, for now, I just need to get a tire fixed on my rims.

Does anyone here have a brother in sparks/reno and lives off El Rancho in a cookie-cutter neighborhood?

Patrick

JonnydaJibba 2005-09-16 01:52 PM

Whats up? Good car to have I love those wagons.

sp00ln 2005-09-16 04:37 PM

Dude it's a long way to sunrise. Make sure you have plenty of gas first.

Welcome, Lurker ;)

doubleurx 2005-09-17 09:34 AM

So that's what those flashing lights meant. Tyson I just thought you were saying Hi.

Welcome Lurker.

tysonK 2005-09-17 11:43 AM

Seriously though, I'll be on the look out for your car.

Welcome.

Lurker 2005-09-18 08:19 PM

Thanks for the big welcome, I'll keep an eye out for you guys.

SlickNick112 2005-09-19 07:21 AM

You should try to make one of our meets. Love to see the car. Thursday nights at 7:00. Or in my case 9:00 and the real troopers that are there when I get there.

MattR 2005-09-19 08:41 PM

Lurker I think I saw you today...Do you have a personalized plate? Anyway, I was in my big-rig, so there's no way you saw me.

zumnwrx 2005-09-19 09:23 PM

^ who do you drive for? i ask cause at the fedex terminal i noticed a silver rex in the parking lot.

edgar, :)

M3n2c3 2005-09-20 12:12 AM

Matt's STi is unmistakable. It's got black rims and a few prominently placed S-Squared decals.

Kevin M 2005-09-20 01:23 AM

Except when it has gunmetal rims, like today. :p

Matt drives for Sierra West Express, not fedex.

MattR 2005-09-20 05:40 AM

Yep,

Nick Koan 2005-09-20 08:32 AM

MattR 2005-09-20 06:55 PM

Hey Edgar, I recognize your S/n from I-crib,,,welcome...

Your Beaner-Kid comment made me laugh, see you thursday.

Also, the best place for people watching (Chick watching) Is the El Dorado. The younger crowd is usually there all weekend. Also, Thursday nights at a Bar called "the flowing tide" in Northwest reno are crazy, lots of girlies. Satellite is cool.

As far as nice roads....there are some twisties nearlby, but you have to be careful, there have been a LOT of incidents lately.

1. Mt Rose Highway, (St Route 431) From South Reno to Lake Tahoe.
2. Virginia City drive, Geiger grade, (St Route 341) South Reno to Virginia city, then down into Dayton.

Those are the stand-by twisty roads...but like I said, be careful.

Duckie 2005-09-21 12:46 AM

Welcome, welcome my friend.

Kevin M 2005-09-21 01:39 PM

Edgar, bear in mind that Mt. Rose Highway (SR 431) is where my RS met its doom. I recoomend skipping that one. ;)

zumnwrx 2005-09-21 06:59 PM

hey matt on that club "the flowing tide" is that on medows or maccaren? also whats the dress code like? do people show up dressed up or is it a jeans and a shirt or both?

i def. want to check it out
edgar, :)

Nick Koan 2005-09-21 08:02 PM

So, uh... zoeb sent me this today...

ZuMnWRX1: y0 hoe need some reno hookers?
ZuMnWRX1: lmk haha
ZuMnWRX1 signed off at 5:22:55 PM.

:rotfl:

Anyways, the Flowing Tide is a moderately nice sports bar. I'm usually there in jeans and some sort of collared shirt. Not cause I dressed up, but because thats what I wear almost every day.

And there are two. One on south meadows (near my place) and one on McCarren.

I'd meet you at one of the two, if you were interested, but I'm out of town till tomorrow. Have fun Edgar.

The flowing tide is a bar. Not a club. But they have special events there. If your picking up the ladies, then dress up a little like a man blouse. ;) There is no specific dress code.

MattR 2005-09-21 08:37 PM

Yeah, what they said....

And I would suggest the McCarran and 7th location in NW Reno...giggity giggity.
