I know I dont know you, but I'm getting a CF hood (I THINK!) in maybe two weeks? By that time I'll be off of school. If you havent done it by then, I'm willing to help ya out if you help me. Dont forget your ricer hood pins!

Ezdno 2005-12-09 08:23 PM

When are you planning on doing this? I could weasel some time over the weekend early after noon I think.

U53D 2005-12-09 08:30 PM

sp00ln 2005-12-09 09:21 PM

http://static.summitracing.com/globa.../mor-39020.jpg

or the locking hood pins from Mr. Gasket Co.

http://static.summitracing.com/globa...e/mrg-1472.jpg

What'ya think? What do your sparco pins look like?

U53D 2005-12-10 03:30 PM

 Have you seen Mike's car lately? The CF trunk ain't the only thing putting that car in SM... the stand-alone engine managment, cams, and turbo come to mind 1st. ;)

sp00ln 2005-12-11 08:11 PM

Where are those pics?

Kevin M 2005-12-11 08:24 PM

Actually, CF trunks put you in SU... which doesn't even exist anymore, right? :(

oops, oh yeah.
(Doesn't existing anymore? Missed the meeting, what?)

Kevin M 2005-12-11 11:57 PM

I thought I heard at the last meeting that SU got dropped for next year? Matt, Scott, am I off?

I think they mentioned that we didn't bother to make changes to SU's PAX, since in the past we had been estimating the PAX for SU as is wasn't a national class.

Kevin M 2005-12-12 12:38 AM

Ah, okay. I thought Greg said SU had been eliminated... which I found notable since he seemed to be in favor of it even though he got his class champion jacket in SU!

JonnydaJibba 2005-12-12 07:35 AM

So you get those bitches installed? If so, pictures please? And where did you get and how much did you pay for your trunk?

U53D 2005-12-13 01:16 PM

dont have em installed yet... i think i might just go down and have them do it at S-Squared when i get another tune for my headers.

Uhhh...you might want to research that decision a little more...

S^2 is no more

sp00ln 2005-12-13 01:56 PM

What happened to S^2?

U53D 2005-12-13 02:00 PM

oh damn...

thats way to friggin unfortunate. DAMNIT!

sybir 2005-12-13 02:00 PM

Shop is closed, Nate is no longer tuning. He's teaching custom fab at Wyotech these days.

Subaru Specialists is still doing repair stuff, just not performance work.

Another local guy bought the dyno and software and will be opening a Subaru shop in Roseville shortly.

U53D 2005-12-13 02:01 PM

yay.

good stuff.

You gotta garage, a 14mm wrench, and opposible thumbs, right? ;)

Or try Gruppe-S in Hayward... most of the S-Squared customers are heading over there. That's where my car is now. GST Mike on our board is the tuner over there and is capable of working miracles. :)

I am guessing that Sybir knows this "local boy" and trusts him?

Yeah, it's Paul (Oaf on I CLub)...He's a good guy with a mechanical background. I'm sure he can handle most install jobs, and with time, he will probably take on tuning. As far as an uppipe install, or headers, he's plenty experienced. I think Paul will be making a formal announcement in coming weeks.

MikeSTI 2005-12-16 11:41 AM

Paul installed my short shifter, hes a good guy :D

cody 2005-12-16 02:45 PM

Yeah! We all agree! :D

Edit: Man you guys prune fast.

 We do now that the dissenting opinions have been split into their own thread. ;)

doubleurx 2005-12-16 04:16 PM

Man I just checked and holy crap: I have opposable thumbs too!

sp00ln 2005-12-16 04:45 PM

You should install your own stuff.

cody 2005-12-16 04:55 PM

Depends...

still need to install my stuff.

lemme know when yours gets in.

sp00ln 2005-12-18 12:34 PM

Should be coming next week... I hope. It's getting kind of shady and I have $400 on my visa bill that I have to pay :(

JonnydaJibba 2005-12-19 07:54 AM

It shouldn't be too hard will it? Unless there are some things about putting on a trunk and hood that I don't know? You get the hood pins on/in the hood right?

U53D 2005-12-21 02:20 AM

yes but on the trunk there is some cutting i need to do to put in the trunk latch and key hole (which is already there) soooo...

im unsure about the hood, but i know i need to install the hood latch also, havent checked if i need to do cutting there....

lemme know.

Duckie 2005-12-21 03:12 AM

Can't wait to see everything when it's done.

JonnydaJibba 2005-12-21 07:09 AM

I think the latch on the hood is a simple as bolting it in, but I'm not positive because I haven't tried it yet. I need to cut holes for the hood pins on mine too but I'm not sure how to do that either.
