What do you listen to at work or whatever?
I used to listen to my Yahoo radio station, but you have to pay or listen to endless repeating commercials...and they're really bad commercials to boot.
Proton Radio is cool sometimes, but they are hit and miss IMO. So enter Pandora. The free version has no commercials and it recomends some really good music. Just enter any band to get started...it's real easy and intuitive. Hope you like it as much as I do. Supposedly it was started by some Music PHD's. |
Its so rare that I get a chance to put my headphones on these days.
Too much talking about work, not enough work. |
Yah, having your own office has it's benefits...

Having your own office = no need for headphones. I never shut my door.

I rock out with my headphones all day long. I usually listen to whatever. It's so nice to have headphones in an office with ladies that jabba jabba jabba.
|
I keep the volume reasonably low usually and I'm a quick draw on the mute/volume button if sombody comes in to chat...
|
I don't seem to have a problem cranking the music on my little h/k speakers. Mostly 'cause I do it from 8pm to 1am... you know the second half of my work day.

I haven't added many artists, but here's my station:

Depends on where I am working, at the Gem Gallery, its xmas in the front, and the Bandit in the shop. Or occasionally we toss in some Dredd Zeppelin or the Real deal...
At the office I consult at its either my yahoo station, or some australian station. When I am at my home office its usually kids screaming or yahoo. |
I'm too cheap to pay for Yahoo Radio so I'm really stoked about Pandora. They play lots of bands I've never heard of, and half the time I like them. I'm getting turned on to all kinds of new music. That never happened with Yahoo.
|
Oh, and the audio quality blows Yahoo out of the water.
|
I listen to my CDs at work. I just cruise around the pool with a boombox on my shoulder and bump my jams. Yeah, I said it...
|
I usually run various video game OSTs in the back room. My two favs would be Metal Gear Solid and Zelda. . .

Dude! That Pandora thing is pretty sweet! I usually listen to my CD's at work, as I'm not on the computer much.

The Police FTW!!! Also some ghey 80's butt-rock mix. But if I get ahold of the radio before the other knuckle-ass', Then It is usually radiohead, or something equally as melodramatic. Oh, and the Frank Show.

I wish I had time to play games back there. :( |
Cody, awesome find with Pandora. I have been training it for a couple of days now and it is finally starting to give me the good stuff. If they ever introduce commercials between the songs I think I will subscribe. Thanks!
|
When hear my brother's launchcast I never hear commercials, is it the same thing?
This is one where you can skip songs endlessly. He's been using for awhile now. |
Thats the pay launchcast, with the normal you can only skip 4 per hour, and commercials every 4 or 5 songs

You can tell I'm too lazy to actually go research it.

Regular launch doesnt have as many station options but hey its only background music anyway. I also noticed that if you find one you like, the next time you try to use the damn thing its a Launch + station the bastards! |
I don't think there really are stations I think you just rate the songs you like and it begins to just change what it plays regardless.

Launchcast is $4/mo. You can listen your own station (which is customizable...like Pandora) or one of their premade stations.
