Homer Simpson would love me + DARKSTI + Snow =

Went up to Boca today with my Mom(she drove her Jeep) and my dogs. It was great, the roads were covered in a few inches of packed down snow and the Blizzaks didnt even flinch. Ended up parking in the boat launch area on the other side of the dam. There it was....a huge parking lot full of 3-6in of powder and a little crunchy snow. My mom took the pics..so they arent the best, but they are great for what i was expecting. On the way out, we got held up due to a 2WD Sequoia (sp) with no snow tires.

Looks like fun. One of my favorite Homer moments is when he went to hell and the devil put him on the donut eating machine to no avail!

M3n2c3 2006-01-22 12:10 AM

Mmmm. . . forbidden donut. . .

Looks like a blast :)

LOL, Just felt like creating a new thread since these were motion photos and didnt have a video. ROFLMAO, I actually am looking for a place to take rally/winter driving classes. :)

MattR 2006-01-22 10:40 PM

OKay, great idea and all, but it leads to a cluttered up board, so if you are going to take pictures of your car in the snow every day and post them...then this is your thread...you're welcome.

If we had tons of snow here, I'd probably be taking lots of pix too. This AWD craziness is relatively new to some of us

Better watch your eyes.

MikeK 2006-01-24 11:43 AM

I suggest a pair of these:

ScottyS 2006-01-24 01:52 PM

Basically in order to survive a SECCS meet you need:

1) Glacier goggles
2) A plastic divider between you and MattR
3) Non-magnetic car exterior
4) Pants (U.S.)

Damn!

Kevin M 2006-01-24 11:30 PM

You and MikeK can have your own non-pants seccs meet sometime...

man that sounds wrong. Way wrong.

I decided to go have some fun. I first went out around 10:30pm and did some scoobnuts down by the airport:

After that, I came home, then went back out again around 11:25pm (no pics tho sorry:(). I ended up doing donuts in a local elementary school parking lot, the funny thing tho is that a lifted bronco ended up joining me  Then I went down to the high school and did a few there, same thing:lol:  It was pretty cool, I would go first then they would:D

tysonK 2006-02-19 06:26 PM

I like that last pic.

Duckie 2006-03-09 02:49 PM

DARKSTI 2006-03-09 04:04 PM

A1337STI 2006-03-10 03:13 PM

Sweet picks Dark STI :)

I'm with you, i can't get enough of driving in the snow, doughnuts in the snow are a lot of fun. :) I'm almost a little worried if over time its gonna be bad on the center diff. i was out driving around for about 2 hours last night (no where to go , just snow driving) dipping into the occasional empty parking lot for a spin, slid, hair pin turn, etc.

I had previously found a rally shool in SF , they teach you in an STI, (but its not bring your own) :) if you find any schools LMK . I'de really love to attend a rally school (or any driving school about performance / awd / subaru / sti driving) :)

how far did you have to drive to that snow patch ?

DARKSTI 2006-03-10 03:44 PM

Which snow patch?

Yea, i was out last night too having some fun. Nothing like drifting Mae Anne a bit lol

Yea, i am also intrested in maybe taking a rally course, I like that kind of driving better than AX.

JonnydaJibba 2006-03-10 03:58 PM
