I don't know, I wasn't there, but I heard all about it, and I've been driving him around for the last few days.

On the bright side, Eric now has to wear an eye patch so he looks like an uber-tough Pirate. He may not be able to drive trains anymore, hopefully his pension will take care of him. It is no longer safe for him to drive locomotives due to his damaged vision. As you can see, he hasn't been on the boards for a few days, he's resting his eye.

I wish him the best.

Argh. I wanna get TOCA 3, but I have TES4 Oblivion, MGS3 Subsistence, MG Acid 2, and a couple of others on the way next month, and I just started playing Colin McRae 2005 again.

And I still pop in GT4 and Forza regularly.

I can't justify adding TOCA 3. . . :(

I can't spend the money on my PC to make it look that good. =(

What about X-Box 360 on HD?

The game isn't being made for 360, just the original xbox. I think the PC will win on this one.

Scott, is it $1000 upgrade for anyone with an ATX case or people that already have 128mb graphics engines, ass loads of RAM and a pentium 4?

I would not mind sharing the fun but I only have a pent 1.4ghz, 512 ram, 32MB graphics card. ugh.

With that group of tracks, you can run the whole V8 supercars series!!!!

Oh, and I think Symons Plains is that one track in Tasmania with the 200 degree hairpin at the end of the straightaway :lol: I want to drive that.

$1000 should get you a good processor, motherboard, RAM, and video card, IMO.

I haven't priced anything recently, but as long as you're upgrading and not buying a case, hard drives, sound cards, etc, you should pretty much be able to get a kick-ass, state-of-the-art system for $1000. Less if you're not one of those people that has to have the latest generation of video cards. Depreciation on computer hardware is unbelieveable... 2 months and a $650 video card is selling for $250. :eek:

(If you can't tell, I'm pumped for this game).

I think what everyone's missing is that these screen shots are from the PC... there's no way the XBox version will look this good.

Also, if they don't drastically improve the feel of the driving in TOCA3, I'll probably still end up playing GT4 or rFactor a lot more than the new game. TOCA2 was pretty out of hand with the late-breaking/dive bombing you could do... the physics engine let you get away with way too much, and as the races got harder, you ended up *having* to drive unrealistically just to keep up... There's nothing worse than driving in traffic that follows the ideal line, while you have to drive an unrealistic line just to keep up.

True, it won't be hardly the experience on the xbox as on a properly equipped pc, but since I don't have a properly equipped pc, the xbox is the only option I have! I was simply in fear that most decent new games would be so focused on the 360, xbox games production would dwindle. It's not gonna be as sharp on my xbox by comparison, but I just didn't want to find that I'd never get a chance to own cool new games without buying some serious pc hardware, or a way over priced 360!

The fact that they were PC shots wasn't missed, just overlooked due to my excitement that I won't have to throw my Xbox in the f'ing trash too soon! :lol:

One more issue about the XBox to consider... once patches/mods start coming out, the PC and XBox versions may not play online w/ each other. :(
