AutoX Class Line-up?

Just wondering, who is planning on running what classes this year?

I am thinking about running in BS (vs. BSL); of those events I can make it to. If I do that, I'll have to run against John Evans in the 350Z  .

I think I've read a bunch of different people planning on SM. Victor in the Mini was running SM last year, right? But I think he was the only one running the whole season in that class....

Dean - are you staying in STX?

STS for me, I think.

cody 2006-03-23 10:19 AM

Novice to start.

Kevin M 2006-03-23 10:42 AM

Probably, but I have also threatened to rnp all year.

sperry 2006-03-23 10:52 AM

TSM for me. TT-2 for trials.

Kevin M 2006-03-23 11:08 AM

Forgot about Trials. TT-6 fo me apparently, unless my weight is way lower than I am expecting.

MattR 2006-03-23 03:18 PM

(T)SM for me, and TT2 in trials.

Carrie will be running my car in TSML, so hopefully Renee is running Victor's Mini in SM so she'll have someone to race against. Although I'm still not sure how she's going to handle racing against a Mini.

Dean, you should run in CP or something, you'd probably win the class because everyone else always mechanical DNF's

cody 2006-03-23 03:24 PM

Um, n00b here. RNP? DNF?

TIA

RNP = Run No Points (like Novice, but for w/o the instruction)

DNF = Did Not Finish

MattR 2006-03-23 03:33 PM

PS: Don't kill me at tonight's meet. KTHX.

MikeK 2006-03-23 05:52 PM

I might be cold tonight, I should wear my jacket

MattR 2006-03-23 05:59 PM

At least I've never lost to an Automatic.

Kevin M 2006-03-23 09:56 PM

Nick, your car is way too modded to run in BS. You're bumped to Shenanigans!

zpeed 2006-03-24 06:45 AM

I be in AS if I have a car. Can I run my SUV :)

Pat R. 2006-03-24 06:56 AM

I'll be in AS for the time being.

Fixed. ;)

Do they even allow larger vehicles like SUVs?

Trucks, SUV's, vans, and other vehicles w/ high centers of gravity are not allowed in autocross. There are some exceptions, like the Lightning, Syclone, and Typhoon... but that's because they're designed for this sort of thing.

You can't call dibs on DFL !.. You'll have to work for it when I'm around.

Pat R. 2006-03-25 11:41 PM

The AS field is expanding. Watch channel 2 news for particulars.

SlickNick112 2006-03-25 11:55 PM

I'm moving from STS to AS. I ran last weekend in Portland in the Oregon Region's 1st event of the year. The STi is just crazy fast compared to my old RS. Just a different animal. WOW!
I placed 47th in raw time, and 51st in PAX out of 151 total cars. Thats right, 151. Needless to say we only got 3 runs on a 46 second course and didn't get out of there until 5:30 that night. Still lots of fun.
I got beat by most of the STU STi's but beat most of the SM STi's. The STU PAX is actually better than AS, go figure?!

It's because AS is actually faster in raw time- when you run on hoosiers or V710s. ;) Glad to hear you're digging the new car though. :)

I guess I could see that. I'm just gonna try to use that as an excuse to Heidi of why we NEED to modify my car. ;)

Matt, you will find this question coming out of your mouth more and more as time goes by.

tysonK 2006-03-26 08:58 PM

Don't worry it's nothing big. I'm co-driving an AS car for a bit.

MattR 2006-03-26 09:01 PM

Oh Snap! An S2000? Sweet, that car is a total blast to drive.

Pat R. 2006-03-26 09:02 PM

An up-until-now Subaru loyalist is jumping to the PFR Honda team to provide some competition in AS.

He pinched Kirsten Joyce's butt before the interview so she got mad and cancelled the spot.

Edit: Two minutes late!

tysonK 2006-03-26 09:11 PM

Scott is a year too late co-driving is the new driving.

MattR 2006-03-26 10:06 PM

I like that "Team PFR Honda" name...has a nice ring to it. A Stock should be a lot of fun for youz guyz

Oh BTW, Is SM going to be the biggest class ever or what? I count 8 regulars + I'm sure I missed some.

1. Mike K
2. Sperry
3. Dave D
4. Matt R
5 qksubi
6. forgotten

... Until you get to the age (or lapse of reason) that there was a question to begin with, and you are just left with the idea that you had a question and you wish you could remember what it was ... like me!
