sweeeeeeet!!

Go JDM Cowboy, now with 100% more JDM!!!

Nick Koan 2006-03-25 10:06 PM

The Motegi Super Street Challenge that was going on this weekend was just a drag race, with about 60%-70% American muscle cars  I was hoping it'd be a tuner shootout or perhaps a lot of riced out cars, but oh well. Got a few cool pics from that too.

Indy is coming back for the first time in a few years, so there is a lot of Indy stuff here at the moment. Also, there is a huge sale on 05 BAR Honda stuff, but very little 06 Honda F1 Racing stuff.

Asimo is pretty cool. I took some videos of him running around, and hopefully I can get those up soon too.

Aarons having a siezure out here with all the dope wagons and stuff. His picture thread should be awesome street cars.

Nick Koan 2006-03-25 10:22 PM

Oh, and if anyone wants some '05 BAR Honda stuff, let me know. Its crazy cheap right now.

doubleurx 2006-03-25 10:23 PM

HI YA!

So Aaron's there with you! Where are all the hooker pics in the hotel room?

sybir 2006-03-26 04:22 AM

I don't have my laptop here, and I'm up at about 300 pics so far...............and we haven't been to Tokyo yet ;)

Rest assured, I've got some good ones coming, and I'm going absolutely batshit insane out here :D

sybir 2006-03-26 04:23 AM

Nick would like me to inform everyone that bidets on their hardest setting feel "invigorating."

Wish you were here, or something ;)

tysonK 2006-03-26 07:28 AM

way to go. Take it all in!

seccs around the world!

Dean 2006-03-26 08:39 AM

Damn, We should have made a run of $7 SECCS T-Shirts or something you could hand out to people with cool cars. Scott's last design would have worked... I would have chipped in.

We need the JDM parts hook up Yo... Find a Subaru/Mitsubishi junk yard that will ship to the US, or a mechanic that would be willing to find us parts...

I can't beleive you went to Japan to watch American muscle cars drag race... That is so wrong... I like it.

sp00ln 2006-03-26 11:18 AM

Awesome! When did you arrive in Japan??? How long are you staying there and where are you going!?

Arrived last wednesday, went to Utsunomiya and Nasoshiobarashi to visit a friend. Then two days in Motegi, and today we are heading to Tokyo. Unfortunately, we leave on this Wednesday. Its way to short of a trip, but its been lots of fun.

sp00ln 2006-03-26 02:01 PM

You have a tour guide while in Tokyo? What are you looking to do there? May I suggest Shibuya and Roppongi Hills.

I'm wishing for a hookup who can get me the RS Watanabe Cyclone wheels....

Nick & Aaron, enjoy the rest of your trip. Hate to say it, but I'm jealous - would love to get back to Nippon sometime.

We've pretty much only got one day in Tokyo, and so far the destinations are Odaibi and Super Autobacs.

MPREZIV 2006-03-27 07:59 AM

lucky bastards...

Enjoy the trip guys! I'm terribly jealous!

You've probably already left... or are there right now, but Odaiba is cool, but go at night! There are stores and the Fuji TV station during the day, but none of those are comparable to the views at night - make sure to take the JR line that goes on Rainbow Bridge. Super Autobacs? Thats a store right? Its just like a Kragen accept for it sells Defi gauges instead of Autometer :p. If you read this before you head out, start your day off on the Yamanote Line. Its the green line. It doesn't matter in what direction you get on, its just a just a huge circle around Tokyo. You can stop at Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ebisu(if you're going to Roppongi) and many other places. Trust me, you'll want to see these places before you leave.

Have fun and take more pics!

Yeah, pretty much  but it's considered the holy land by one of the guys I'm traveling with

Only a few hours, and doesn't look to far from the hotel.

sp00ln 2006-03-27 02:58 PM

Its OK I guess... I bought some light tint thing from there and it didn't work. It just sells some cool stuff from HKS and stuff... like a mini...mini summit. Nothing you cant get here.

Yeah. Its got a lot of cool stuff, but not really that cheap or really rare, but still kinda neat.

sp00ln 2006-03-28 06:34 PM

I saw both of those while I was at autobacs. :P

sp00ln 2006-03-28 06:34 PM

... and I think I just ruined the thread. Can someone resize them for me :) I'm at school :p

sperry 2006-03-28 09:24 PM

It would suck to have that Sylvia and get a rock in the windshield spray bottle and not be able to clean your glass!

(yes, that's the best I got for bustin on that sick car... I got nuthin.)

sp00ln 2006-03-28 09:55 PM

If a rock hit that car, anywhere, to where it would break the fluid reserve, it would suck.

sybir 2006-03-29 07:40 PM

More!!!!!
So, I took like 400 pics, and I'm not posting them all for you fuckers ;)
If you've got questions about something, post it up and I'll try my best, I'm on car overload :D
I've got everything in 2048 as well, so if you want high res, I can do that too. Camera's not that great, and a bunch are blurry/clipped as I took them from a moving car, but there you go.

Of course we went to Super Autobacs, where I saw not one, but TWO, of these.
http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/japan06/DSCF2840.JPG
Both real. I was speechless.

And, demonstrating once more that life just isn't fair......

I was watching that asimo video, it's still very creepy.

sybir 2006-03-29 09:10 PM

Good call, Tyson. That thing was hot, and running -2 camber all the way around, on PFF7's. Saw an Odyssey with 'em too, shit was hot. :D

-2? I'm at -4 deg of camber just to make the tires fit!

cody 2006-03-29 10:08 PM

I considered just getting an alignment since my tires only just barely rub, but I don't have adjustable camber bolts in the back. :(

Um, that's gonna cost as much as renting the rolling tool, and gives you adjustability that's very useful to have. Plus installing the bolts is less work than rolling the fenders.

As much as I'd like to help Aaron out with the cost of that tool, camber bolts are the right answer.

Or get 225/45/17's.

They are. The RT-615's run wide.

Sperry, I'm not sure I want more than -1 in the back. I have two sources telling me that I'm running -1 in the rear: the original alignment sheet and my buddy who has nice alignment tools. The front was reported as -1.4 by the alignment shop and -1.1 by my friend.

The passenger side rear tire only rubs when I take very hard left hand turns.

I guess I could get some extra negative camber all around and true up everything. It has been 2 years since the "after-spring-install" alignmet.

The stupid alignment shop ignored my instructions and installed the camber bolts in the front corners instead of the rear.

How'd you get the car? Was it your friends, or did you rent it?

Car was our friend's, actually was provided by his company. Honda Life FTW!

Yes, we saw asimo running. Kinda creepy actually.

I took some video, I just have to pull it off my camera.

Luckyy.

Well, take your time (of course).

I used to be really interested in anthropomorphic robots, and I have a bunch of AIBOs.. but I guess it was just a passing interest.

Have you seen this "robotic muel" vid? Kinda creepy if you ask me.

GC8.Love 2006-04-01 11:39 PM

Cooool. Gotta love a robot that can balance and stabilize itself. Of course, it's easier (in a way) when it's not bipedal like an ASIMO or something else humanoid. =P
