TX: Selling my very clean 02 WRX

Here's my 2002 Impreza WRX up for sale.

My baby is well kept and well maintained. I just recently upgraded the motor with forged internals to support the upgraded VF30 turbo. The work was done by the Master Mechanic at Subaru of Temple 2 weeks ago (Late April 06). I just recently got my car back from them and have a scheduled Dyno Tune with MZM performance May 12, 2006 (next friday).

All the modifications were installed at my local dealership by the same master mechanic who rebuilt my motor @ Subaru of Temple. Oil change every 3,000 miles at Subaru Dealership using 5W30 Mobile1 extended performance with the Japanese Subaru (black) oil filter. The car currently has 45,8xx Miles on it.

Why are you posting a car from Texas on a regional board in Reno?

JonnydaJibba 2006-05-07 09:04 PM

Nice car but you are over 1,000 miles away...

Kevin M 2006-05-07 10:06 PM

Seriously, what's with the non-local classifieds posts lately? Do we need a sticky to tell people not to bother, since we all read at least one of the major Subaru boards, if not all of them?

Bob Danger 2006-05-07 10:30 PM

First off, your car in excellent condition blue books at like 16,800 Why do people think that modifying a car makes it more valuable? Not to mention that judging by you’re mods you don't compete in any SCCA events, which means that you either street race or drag race which means the transmission and differential could be thrashed, and you’re e-mail "driftstars" really makes you sound like a "ricer".

I've seen forums that require you to be a member for so long before you can post in the classified section; if we keep getting people joining just to sell crap can we implement something like that?

sperry 2006-05-07 11:44 PM

Guys.... it's easy and free for people to advertize here. If you're not interested, don't bump the thread. It'll die a quick death.

By posting all this crap, you're bringing people into the thread.

khail19 2006-05-08 07:31 AM

BAN!!! We want a BAN!!! :D

Hey now. I have probably the most modifications to an STI in the local club and I haven't competed in any SCCA events.

Don't always assume.

Dont be a bitch dude. I agree with Scott, if you are not interested, dont post.

Very nice car btw. If you can sell it for that price, good, but I think it needs to come down.

SupraRexer 2006-05-08 02:07 PM

Hey man,

I appreciate the props and backup. I tend to ignore the ignorant and the negativity cuz every forums has their jackass'. The reason I'm asking that much is because I want the the price to be negotiatable. I sold my 96 Supra TT last January for only $19,500 cuz I got lowballed so much by asking only 21k for it. The car only had 63,xxx miles on it. But the point is, I'll definately take less than what the asking price is if its within reason. :)

In response to your comments: There's nothing wrong with racing your car if you know how to drive. But the honest truth is, I never raced this car because I babied it. I just hit 46,000 miles in it this past weekend driving it to the shop to get an tune up and oil change. If someone who is buying this car is worried about the motor or tranny, there is a website which i put in the description or I can give a phone number to the dealership to verify the condition of the vehicle. Probably one of the best condition 02's you'll ever see daily driven.

On the 2nd note.. you calling me a ricer for having an email called driftstars?
I'm not sure if you're hating because you can't drift or because you are jealous that I can. I came to that conclusion by noticing you drive an Corolla GTS. Obviously for drifting, or should i say trying to drift. I've owned a "AE86" before you even knew what the car was. I bought my first 86 coupe in 1992 and owned 2 other 86's since then. I've purchased my Supra TT in 1996 and a Celica GTS in 2000. I guess I would call myself a Toyota Enthusiast. The point which i'm coming to is this: Don't try or begin to criticize me when you have less credibility then the one you are trying to belittle.

To end this on a happy note. I'm not here to argue with you or start a flame thread. I'm actually not even upset with you and I forgive you for your antic comments. ;)

Yeah for 985 dollars. Which is about $980 more than I'd want to spend. Actually in a couple weeks I'll be driving an RS back from El Paso.

SupraRexer 2006-05-08 02:28 PM

No big deal. If you pay the asking price, I'll pay for the shipping. ;)

btw, El Paso is actually quite some distance from me. I'm in Central Texas area and El Paso is way south. =P

Did you buy your RS in El Paso?

That wouldn't be a bad deal, but I don't really want a bugeye. I don't think you'll have much trouble selling it though.

SupraRexer 2006-05-08 02:33 PM

That's cool man. I honestly love the bug eyes and previous gen better than the newer ones. But that's just my preference.

oh btw, did you notice I'm selling my WRX with the notebook. :D

Just FYI... you don't have any "credibility" around here on post #5. How 'bout coming to 15 or 20 of our weekly meets and meeting everyone, if you'd like to claim credibility.

Plus, Bob's got like what, 2 or 3 Hachi's right now, not to mention the ones he's sold?

Also, you sorta just listed off every fanboi car made in the last two decades. You're only missing the Skyline and maybe and SRT-4.

Finally, drifting is to racing as figure skating is to hockey. Have fun at the FNF3 premier.

I wasn't referring my credibility here on the forums but for my credibility on my AE86's. And I guess you haven't noticed but alot of the people mention we're about 1,000 miles apart. Plus, I also i have 2 hachi's right now not to mention the ones I've sold. But if you like to drive down here or fly here I'll be more than willing to show you around in every one of my "life size" hot wheel collection.

Btw, my fanboi cars made in the last 2 decades as you like to call them were cars I've actually owned. I'm missing the Skyline and SRT4 because I never owned one or plan on owning. Oh wait.. did you notice that all the so called "fanboi" cars I listed were toyota's?? What a coincidence?!?! oh wait.. no its not, i have a loyalty to them because I'm a Toyota Enthusiast like i said i was.

If you want to call me out on BS, please do, and put a $100+ wager. I would love to accept.

LOL, took me a while to figure out what you meant by "FNF3 premier" but I got it. I won't be at the premiere but i'm sure i'll watch the movie a week or so after it comes out. Probably around the same time you do. So if you want a date, don't be afraid to ask. =)

Let me appologize, I got some bad news about my grandfather last night, then was almost run off the road by some 16 year old in an Accord with a three foot wing. So, i was a little on edge, but that doesn't excuse my actions. Everyone was perfectly in the right, to jump on my case. So, I'm sorry. I'm normally pritty level headed, and am the last person to pick fights. Good luck with the sell.

Dont worry Suprarexer, I'd love to have a supra, skyline or even an SRT-4. Shit, I'd take a skyline/supra over anyones car on this board, and if anyone would decline a skyline over their own car is a fool.

Hey bro,

I appreciate the comment. Well.. to be quite frankly with you.. i was willing to part with my supra as easily as I did was due to the fact the car was an automatic. I mean don't get me wrong, I still love the car to death and it pulled hard, but wasn't as fun to drive as a manual. =(

If your wondering why I bought an auto to begin with, it is because they only made Supra's in Automatics in 1996. I know this because I asked for a 6 speed but they told me for the 2jzgte (turbo model) they only have it in auto. I believe it had something to do with the emissions laws at the time. *shrugs*

sp00ln 2006-05-08 09:17 PM

How about porsche 997 TT

The tiptronic version is quicker 0-60 by .4 seconds.

You're credibility on AE86's is pretty meaningless when you use it to defend your "mad dorifto skillz". Just 'cause I drive a Subaru, does that imply I'm a rally expert? Just 'cause you own a couple of hachi's doesn't make your comments that we're jealous of your ability to drift any less rediculous.

I never said you don't own those cars, I said you buy fanboi cars. The only ones you're missing is the Skyline and SRT-4 to make your 7th grade wet dream complete.

On an aside to Sp00ln... I wouldn't trade my WRX for a Skyline. I'd rather drive a 400hp 3000lb car than a 600hp 3700lb car. The lighter car will be faster and cheaper to operate. Skylines are pigs, they take way more money to make into a good road race car than an STi.

If there was your WRX and a GTR-34 right next to it, 98% of the car enthusiast population would choose they skyline. The only thing that MIGHT be able to compete with a skyline on that level could be a spec-c... but I doubt it. Skylines have a reputation for a reason, and it's not just because of "2fast2furious", so get that out of your head. Some considered them one of the best built/engineered cars ever. They have a cult following all over the world with tuner enthusiasts. They're praised in Japan, as they should be. No one cares for STI's like they do the GTRs. And I'm not trying to dog on your car either - I'd run my car into a wall to be able to have the chance to own a GTR-34.

Regarding the weight/price problem, this shouldn't be coming from a guy that has a half gutted car - there are obvious things you can do about the weight of the car if it's going to be setup for road-race/track purposes. Also, if being "cheap" was a real issue, you'd have a 6-bolt DSM a long time ago - In my opinion, the perfect weekend track car. Of course, we are assuming here that this is the perfect world, and that both cars would be free of charge.

People are intitled to their opinions though, so if you disagree with me, thats fine. I just believe that there are people in this world that take so much pride in the car that they own, they're blind to all the other cars in this world - even if it's of superior quality; a sad aspect of the "car enthusiast's" world.

Me also. It's just that some of the new cars out are outperforming the manual versions at least in straight line performance.

Skylines are awesome. I've like them for a long time. There are many more years of Skylines than just the R34. Most of them being so sexy.

IMO, the R32 was the last good Skyline. After that they got too heavy and stopped being a driver's car. Maybe someone *cough, Scott, cough* should split this up so we stop hijacking the poor guy's FS thread.

I was all for helping homeboy out w/ the sale, including jumping on the regulars that started shitting up the thread. But then he insulted Bob after I had already tried to help him out. So, I'm not really inclined to spend the time cleaning up the mess this thread turned into because new-guy couldn't keep his panties from bunching up.

I used my ownership of an AE86 to defend my "mad dorifto skillz"? Umm let me find where I said that. OH Wait I didn't. You're a rally expert? Did I say you were.. oh wait, once again I didn't. Just cause you puckered your lips to kiss some butt to get admin doesn't mean you can be a "smart ass" even if I am new to the boards. And trust me, I use the term "smart" very loosely. I apologize for being "rediculous" whatever that means.. but if you mean ridiculous.. Am I? If I was being as "rediculous" as you mentioned, isn't it ridiculous of you to point it out? :?:

I buy fanboi cars? I'm not sure exactly what that means, but if you mean I buy cars that trend set by movies, then I must again disagree with you. Did you even know what the hell a Toyota Supra was back in 1996? Honestly, ask yourself that. Because Supra's were still foreign to me til 1995 and at that time I was a still a Toyota enthusiast. Also, when I bought my corolla gts, I had no clue it was going to be popular. I bought it because it was cheap and the car grew on me which developed into a loyalty to Toyota.

I'm not a big fan of Dodge and I don't ever plan on owning an SRT4. I guess your not understanding that I buy Toyota's and the toyotas I bought during the time period were the sport/tuner cars made by Toyota. Hence the statement I made previously, I'm a Toyota enthusiast.

By the way.. how do you know what makes 7th graders wet? :~:

Seriously? You didn't hear about the Supra for 10 years? What kind of Toyota's did you drive? I mean, I mainly stuck to Toyota trucks in the 90's, but I knew what the hell a Supra was from about the mid-80's when they debuted. Hell, I knew about the Supra before I even gave to shits about cars in general. So, being the master Toyota Enthusiast that you claim to be, have you ever heard of a Celica? What about a Tacoma? or an Camry? Cresida? Starlet? Come on, seriously, what Toyota enthusiast never heard of a Supra till '95?

That would be quite a talent. But, I don't think he's that flexible.

bah, let the man sell his car for whatever he wants.. it's a nice lookin bug eye that can handle a crazy amount of boost! 21k is high but i bet, if he sells it for 18-19xxx$ and someone ELSE puts about 4k$ into it bringing the grand total to 21,000$, that car would rip on just about everyone in this club... AND it looks clean! not for autocross? who cares.. bump for a sweet lookin car

by the way.. anyone who wants to offer me a skyline can take my evo.
Skyline > subaru or mitsu

You were called a ricer because of your email address that referenced drifting. You defended that by saying:

"I'm not sure if you're hating because you can't drift or because you are jealous that I can. I came to that conclusion by noticing you drive an Corolla GTS. Obviously for drifting, or should i say trying to drift. I've owned a "AE86" before you even knew what the car was."

You implied you know how to drift so well it makes Bob jealous. You backed that up by mentioning AE86 ownership. It doesn't get much clearer than that.

The rally expert association was to demonstrate how owning a particular car has little to do with knowledge a particular driving style. If you can't understand how allegory works, perhaps you should shut your mouth before arguing against one.

Here's an example of a rediculous statement: "I'm a badass flute player, all y'all are so jealous of my flute skills."

Here's another rediculous statement: "I'm not sure if you're hating because you can't drift or because you are jealous that I can."

The only difference, there are a few more retards that actually think drifting is cool than there are retards that think flute playing is cool. Either way, you're the eyeshadow and make-up wearing, tutu and tights clad, ice dancing gay-boy of the motorsports world if you're a "drifter". Not that there's anything wrong with that, and not that drifting doesn't take skill, just don't pretend the rest of us that actually drive in competative motorsports have a enough respect for your "sport" that we're jealous of your "skill".

By the way, which drift series do you drive in?

Oh and one more rediculous statement: "Just cause you puckered your lips to kiss some butt to get admin doesn't mean you can be a "smart ass" even if I am new to the boards. And trust me, I use the term "smart" very loosely."

At least it's pretty rediculous when you make it to member #1. Talk about being "new to the boards".

Hmm... 1996... I'm not sure I can think all the way back to college... wait, yep I knew what a Supra was: the JDM Mullet Mobile. Big, heavy, RWD, and overpriced. I'd rather have a Mustang for 1/8th the price.

But let me think back a little more... I remember this Supra:

http://www.carhistory.no/mk1.jpg

Back when it was the uprated version of the Celica. But I'm sure you knew all about that, since you're such a huge Toyota "enthusiast".

So why's such a Toyota fanboi, er enthusiasts, selling a WRX? I can't believe you strayed from your brand, dawg. Oh wait, the WRX is another fanboi car you've owned. I'll say it a 3rd time, you still need an SRT-4 and a Skyline to "collect 'em all"... you're so close to completing your GT4 fantasy garage!

And by the way... your WRX is not "clean". Rather, it's quite hideous... covered in unecessary body kit bits, hand painted lights... wait are those "speed holes" in the grill? Not to mention all the go-fast parts in the motor w/o any supporting suspension or brake bits (and note, lowering springs and strut tower braces do not count as "upgraded handling"... they're for looks). Oh and I bet that BOV really adds a ton of horsepower.

Here's a clean car:

and another:

Form follows function on a "clean" car. Just polishing your riced-out turd doesn't count.
