Thought this may be worth a look. Autopros has $10k in it; Aside from apparent damage, the transmission is bad, missing front seats, mileage is more than likely fraudulent. It did have some brand of yellow coilovers, 225/35r18's... I don't recall the wheels being rashed anywhere. The headlights have some sand damage. Didn't look for any ballasts, so I don't know if they're hid's. Perrin inlet tube, sti intercooler. Mounting holes in trunk lid.

Was this worth the look?

Bob Danger 2006-10-17 07:33 PM

Didn't this car belong to some really tall kid in Carson?

MorganK 2006-10-17 07:35 PM

Yeah...I think his name was Brandon. Nickname, Lurch

qksubi 2006-10-17 08:24 PM

That just took the bugeye to a new low!!

M3n2c3 2006-10-17 09:32 PM

Yeah, I remember seeing that turd of an Impreza driving around town.

Nick Koan 2006-10-17 09:45 PM

Do they pay for the repainting?

Yes, No

Nick Koan 2006-10-17 10:08 PM

Exactly. If I were to buy it, would they pay for the necessary paintjob?

That would be something you would have to talk to them about. They probably could at a "nominal fee". The paint, is actually pretty nice in person, imo.

Sarcasm class must have been an elective at your school.

So, I guess to answer your original question of "Was this worth the look?" the answer is 'no'. It was not worth it. In fact, I think we are all a little dumber for having looked at pictures of that WRX. My only hope is that by some strange coincidence, posting these jackass comments will, in some way, shape or form, allow me to regain the brain cells lost from looking at that god awful excuse for a Subaru.

You know, in a way, maybe the answer is yes. Maybe looking at that classfied was worth it. Not worth buying, of course, but worth the laugh.

Thanks for your opinion. The comments arn't jackass, it's reality. This car is fairly trashed.

wow, didn't need to know that.

MattR 2006-10-18 11:21 AM

I think that guy ran a shop in Sparks for a while. Redsun Auto I think?? I remember we cruised there as a group after the meet one night. This had to have been 100 years ago though.

I think he did, I know he worked at a shop in Carson, Wicked something, I ordered my coilovers for the Lancer from him, and I think Jonny got the coilovers for his L from that place aswell.

khail19 2006-10-18 01:46 PM

One and the same, I remember this guy showed me his car when I was at Red Sun. I think he was even a short lived member on here.

Ezdno 2006-10-19 03:26 PM

Well just an FYI, this car was towed to Subaru today, it would not start and if it did it popped like it was about to die. The tech that did the input for our data systems said this car was the biggest piece of crap he had ever seen.

Oh Brandon. He sold me my prodrive rims with almost new AVS 100s . A buddy of mine , Casey, is really good friends with him. He's repainted that car a bunch of times, he sold me the prodrive rims because he had the car painted bronze. when it was bronze with bronze rims it looked great. Either those photos with parking garage lights don't do it justice, or he repainted it (again) I know he's into drag racing a bit as he mentioned believing his car was faster in a straight line then an STI. so i wouldn't be surprised if the car isn't the best of shape. He had a bunch of mods (many cosmetic like some JDM side turn signals) not sure about his tunning.

He even helped me swap out all my tires in his driveway when i bought the prodrives off him. the only thing that freaked me out a bit was my buddy Casey told me Brandon always carries a loaded gun with him.

oh wells. ya it does look fugly in those photos though.

What would the point of carrying an unloaded gun around be?

A1337STI 2006-10-23 04:37 PM

the point of carrying a unloaded gun would be for the Bluff factor,

the point of reading comprehension though is understand what was written, in this case its to understand he carries a LOADED gun , concealed on him at all times.

the general idea of carrying a loaded gun is for security, you feel safer knowing you could shoot people. at least that's my guess, i don't own any firearms.

khail19 2006-10-23 04:53 PM

He read it right, Scott is just saying there is no point in carrying around an unloaded weapon. So what other type would he carry around besides a loaded one?

Bingo. If you're stupid enough to carry an unloaded weapon just to bluff with, you deserve to die when you get shot by someone that believes their life is in danger when they see you playing gansta.

If you carry, you *never* pull the weapon unless you intend to use to to save your life.

sybir 2006-10-23 08:33 PM

Or you're planning on committing to taking someone else's.

Same for any weapon. Sure, I play with my knife, but I'd never pull it out in anger unless I was planning on using it. You pull a deadly weapon of any sort, and there is no second chance. You've escalated, and anyone else is justified in meeting that escalation of force. You pull a gun and aim it (or a knife, for that matter), and the other guy is justified in capping your dumb ass in self-defense.

No actually it really does appear he misread it.

unless you figure anyone who ever carries a gun keeps it loaded. a lot of people carry unloaded guns with them in their cars for example. (My uncle does that ) and some people carry a gun and the clip of ammo out of the gun so they would be carrying an unloaded gun. :P

at any rate if i misinterpreted something someone else wrote, I still got a laugh out of his wording. and i can admit a funny looking post I made and laugh at myself too :P guess its all Win Win for me :)

sybir 2006-10-24 02:16 PM

That's what we're saying. Saying "loaded" in front of "gun" is extraneous. Anyone who carries a gun unloaded is a retard, becuase they're carrying it purely for shock value and will be unable to respond to the escalation of force them pulling a gun implies.

MPREZIV 2006-10-24 02:18 PM

pull an unloaded gun on me, and you will later find yourself trying to shit the affore-mentioned useless firearm back out...

khail19 2006-10-24 02:19 PM

It's called sarcasm, he didn't misread it. What good is it having an unloaded gun on you? Or in your car? Even if you have the ammo on you as well, I imagine the situation in which you need a gun to defend yourself does not permit time for finding the ammo and loading it. You're dead by then.

Ya seriously. If there is a situation that requires me to brandish a gun, that situation also requires me to have it loaded.

Nick Koan 2006-10-24 02:50 PM

Yeah, if you are pulling an unloaded gun out, you better be real good (really, really good) with the pistol whip and/or pistol throwing techniques.

A1337STI 2006-10-24 02:59 PM

so all of you would immediately assume anyone who pulls a gun on you has it unloaded? you are all a lot braver then i am :P next time someone pulls a gun out , assume its unloaded , teach them a lesson, and let me know how it all works out for you :P lol

ya i get what i missed now. i still laughed about it, and now i have something else to laugh about.

No, just the opposite in fact. If someone pulls a gun on me, I assume its loaded and freak out. I would assume that everyone else in their right mind would as well. But you never know who else is holding. Thus...

Person 1 pulls an unloaded gun out (like an idiot).
Person 2 thinks "Shit, someone just pulled a gun on me, I should pull my loaded one out"
Person 1 shits himself
Person 2 pulls the trigger and Person 1 is now Dead Person 1.

or
Person 1 pulls an unloaded gun out (like an idiot).
Person 2 thinks "Shit someone just pulled a gun on me, I need to GTFO"

or
Person 1 pulls an unloaded gun out (like an idiot).
Person 2 thinks "Shit, my life is on the line I need to fight like it counts" and beats the shit out of Person 1; Whom is now either Seriously Wounded Person 1 or Dead Person 1.

Personally, I'd rather be alive than succeed bluffing w/ an unloaded gun, so the better theory is 'Don't pull a gun out unless you can and will use it' and Q.E.D. only an idiot would pull an unloaded gun on a stranger.

And by the way, the law sides with Person 2 in the two bad scenarios because their life was threatened.

ScottyS 2006-10-24 03:26 PM

The nomenclature "loaded gun" is just good copy...for places like CNN. Just like "assault rifle", "unknown sniper", and "automatic pistol".

I, for instance, prefer to drive an AWD Subaru. Sure, other states of Subaruness exist, but only in the hands of poor saps.

A1337STI 2006-10-24 03:57 PM

guess i'm having a http://www.tvsquad.com/media/2006/03/homer-doh.jpg Moment

khail19 2006-10-24 06:32 PM

I love this place. Only on SECCS can we turn a thread about a busted ass ricer WRX into a thread about the dangers of carrying an unloaded weapon.

Nick Koan 2006-10-24 06:35 PM

Tangents? Nah.

Hell, that discussion on a free track day went all over the place, and has ended up as a discussion on break-in procedures.

cody 2006-10-24 07:52 PM

What, no street racing rants?

MattR 2006-10-24 08:11 PM

This thread is retarded, and so are street racers.

tysonK 2006-10-24 08:21 PM

my internet, which is loaded, just started working and I see this thread.

wow.

tysonK 2006-10-24 08:22 PM

does this thread fall under gay or smart-ass.

maybe a poll is needed.

A1337STI 2006-10-25 09:19 AM

I almost got rear ended by a stupid street racer on Sunday. was coming back up from willows, a bit past Sacramento had 2 mustangs pass me at at least 100. I waited about 45 seconds before daring to make a lane change for fear of some other dumb yahoos behind me, I was looking behind me and to the lane left of me, put my signal on, let it blink 3-4 times but then sure enough soon as i was changing lanes a 3rd asshole comes flying up at over 100 from the far right lane and tries to dive into the far left lane and almost hit my rear end. my turn signal was clearly on. I saw the head lights coming at me really fast.

I was about road ragging pissed and just hung out on the left lane and slowed down to 62 and just sat there and he took an exit off the highway about a 1/2 mile up (in almost an equally reckless fashion) ARG !!!! Never a cop when you need one. i was thinking of letting him go ahead of me and grabbing his Plate # and calling the cops but left the highway before i could, and chances are they wouldn't do anything. Blah!

street racers should be kept in fast n furious movies, or in monkey cages at the zoo where i can throw rocks and sticks at them
