New Rule for 07 SCCA out yet? I would like to know what are the TT acceptable for Helmet and Roll bar for convertible.

2007 Solo Rules are not out. 2007 TimeTrials supplementals are not out yet. If you want rules for TimeTrials safety, a good starting place is the GCR: http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/File/GCR2007.pdf ...the TT rules are based on the GCR, so if you're legal for SCCA Club Race, you'll be legal for TT. But there are probably some things in the GCR you won't need to be TT legal, esp. when it comes to rules for convertibles. |
2007 Solo rules online: http://www.scca.com/Solo/Index.asp?I...1520&x=050|070&~= (I forgot how to reformat a link, sorry.) |
Can somebody help me clear this? In the 2007 rule said "Helmets: Snell Foundation standards (SA, K, or M) are acceptable". But it did not say what year? Is it standard of 10 years old? So minimum 1997? I have Snell K98 Helmet. I might do some auto-x and some PDX.
I have to read more about convertible with stock roll bars and harness. |
Oh thank Debbie for info.

Anybody know if the Reno SCCA had a meeting this month? I wanted to know how much the street tire modifier was discussed if any.
|
It was discussed a medium amount

Changing wheels is not harder than loading and unloading a car off a trailer.

Frankly, I think with AWD, there is an advantage to street tires. It's much harder to run out of grip when all four tires are powered meaning I have a lower loss percentage than something like a corvette that's trying to put down the same amount of power through just two tires. |
Good Point^
|
Points that raised my attention when reading the Reno SCCA minutes and news letter. Mesuring the decible level at events, increasing street tire adjustment(thx Scott) and novice moving into a class (number of events before changing over).
Due we have any equipment to measure decible levels? I think the loudest car has to be the red (Toyota/Datsun). Don't know what my car would register. Some of the Corvette folks must have loved the idea of increasing the street tire handicap. I agree with the restriction on the Novice class. |

Yes, we have a sound meter. I can't remember if anyone remembers where it is though. Matt, Scott, wasn't there a call for an equipment manager or Chief of Equipment, or some such role? This would be the person to keep track of things like this. We also have scales, though they are seldom used, but as I understand it, club members could use them if requested and approved. |
All of that stuff is on the bus, according to Dave Deborde.

Next season will be interesting with regards to street tires... since some long-time competitive street tire folks are switching to race tires... but I'm not naming names, since I don't remember if they've made the switch public or not yet. I think we'll see how good the factor really is before season's end. |

I intend to make it intersting. Hoosiers. |

Anybody need help with their itch? I'm going down to Golden Gate Fields on the 25 for autocross. Check out the view. It may help in the short term but April is coming fast.
|
Why the change to one day for test and tune and school? Just curious if there will be ample shake down time and runs.

I really like the fact that there are two weekends potentially planned for august, as it's likely I'll miss the Squaw event again this year. |

Is the schedule in the first post pretty solid at this point?

Sorry, but at 1am last night, I wanted to climb into bed w/ my GF, not dick around for another 10 minutes converting a document from Word to HTML or PDF, especially since I've already coded a events calender in PHP for the website that includes automatic listing of upcoming events, google maps for common locations, sorting by category, etc... If you don't have Word, then I guess you can't come to any events. :P |
Slacker! :P

Ist this because the site is being moved? |

I need Andy to contact me about it I think. I've never transfered a domain name that I already didn't own. I think I can initiate the transfer myself, but I don't want to do it and have Andy suddenly get a transfer request out of the blue, so I'm hoping Matt or Carrie can give Andy the heads up and put us in contact. |
I can't get at renoscca.com either.
But Matt updated the first post, so I'll survive. :P |

Couple of questions - Estimated date when the 2007 Solo schedule will be up and linked there? (I've told people to watch for the updated schedule to be published on renoscca.com.) Do the links use the client's browser settings, as far as either going directly to the linked page; or is there an option to allow the link to open in a new browser page? (I know some people find that extra prompt annoying, though.) Thanks! p.s., Will you add a link for archived or historical content, i.e. the 2006 newsletters? |
Question about points for 2007. From the news letter, it looks like max points is 10 and an uncontested win will also net you 10 points. Is this correct? And how the points get distributed after first should tighten up some classes.
|
Class points: 10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1 (10 for uncontested)
PAX points: 30,29,28,27,...,2 (1 for everyone else) Novice points: 5 if you show up, bonus 5 if you're the fastest novice of the day ...that's the current proposal. |
What is the ETA on run groups being finalized for 07. Not to be pushy but I'm just attempting to schedule some stuff around the events like morning verses afternoon stuff. Thanks
|
march 13th, they should be published. And leave me the hell alone.
|
April 15 is the points event? I'll be working on the 14 so no test&tune for me.
|
Yes
