SECCS Annual Tech. 3/22/07 6pm

CANCELLED...

not enough people coming.

that is all.

JonnydaJibba 2007-03-05 03:50 PM

Uh do I need this?

MPREZIV 2007-03-05 03:51 PM

IIRC, you can't Jon. You haven't been in the SCCA (are you even a member?) long enough/to enough events.

Nick Koan 2007-03-05 03:55 PM

Works for me. I should have most of my pre-season parts installed by then and ready for tech.

EDIT: Except I might not have a Solo Rules book for 2007 just yet. Will he have any available? Or is there a way to get them before hand? Hopefully the general members meeting this Wednesday will have some.

NevadaSTi 2007-03-05 04:17 PM

I'm interested, however I am thinking that my broken windshield is gonna kill me. I am gonna get it replaced before the season starts, just don't have the money for it yet.

Joeyy 2007-03-05 04:19 PM

I'm good with the date. Guess I should look into a rule book also.

As long as it doesn't touch more than one edge of the glass. THe FX had a crack in the windsheild the went from the edge of the driver side to 1 inch away from the passenger side, and nobody said a word.

Nick Koan 2007-03-05 04:25 PM

And technically it shouldn't be in your line of sight.

You can get your Tech done later, no worries. These dates are just to make the line shorter on April 14th and 15th.

MPREZIV 2007-03-06 07:27 AM

Yes, the rulebook questions should be answered at the meeting this week. They were mentioned last month, and ordered I believe...

Hopefully we'll have enough of a turnout on the 22nd for it to be worth doing. I know some people are planning on going to C&C due to time/preparation restraints. Just don't want Wes to waste his time coming up to only see like 3 of us...

M3n2c3 2007-03-06 02:23 PM

Is membership a requirement for ann. tech? I haven't been able to foot the membership fee yet.

Membership, and completing more than 50% of last season's events.

Joeyy 2007-03-12 09:55 AM

Do I have to have the Light Stars on the wagon for inspection or can I just put them in the back?

MPREZIV 2007-03-12 10:01 AM

We talked about this at the meeting last week after you left, and were still kinda undecided... Technically, you're SUPPOSED to have the car setup exactly as you plan on racing it, but then there was the question of people on race tires, who wouldn't want to drive across town on non-street-legal tires.

Basically, I'd say unless it's a safety thing, bring the car prepped as you plan on racing it.

Nick Koan 2007-03-12 10:01 AM

The spirit of the rules is to have the competition tires on, but I think the letter of the rules says it says as long as you have tires that you could compete on, that's good enough.

EDIT: what cory said.

Joeyy 2007-03-12 10:06 AM

Guess I can just show up on my stockers being street tire is what I'll run anyway.

Nick Koan 2007-03-12 10:07 AM

I'd bring your race rubber in the back too, just for the hell of it.

Also, bring your helmet, so it can get certified too.

MPREZIV 2007-03-12 11:10 AM

The trick to having the car "prepared" is so we can check the wheels for cracks, etc... So bringing your race wheels with you would be pertinant.

Dean 2007-03-12 04:42 PM

Do we have an answer on the rule book requirement answered yet? I'll probably buy one anyway, but thought I'd check since I missed the meeting.

Kevin M 2007-03-12 05:09 PM

That won't be settled until next month apparently.

Rule books aren't going to be required. National dropped the reference to 'em in their rules, we're doing the same in our supps.

MattR 2007-03-12 06:29 PM

I'm going to annual tech on my street tires, I'm not driving on my hoosiers to C&C. I have brand new wheels out of the box, so tech will have to take my word for it.

Technically, the car CAN be teched on any set of wheels and tires, it's the driver's responsibility to ensure interchangable parts/wear items like wheels, tires, brake pads, are maintained throughout the season, just my .03

NevadaSTi 2007-03-12 07:00 PM

Yehaa, I just put my RE 070's back on, I'm ready. I just hope I can get around the whole new windshield thing.

You've still got a few days, and most insurance will repair glass for free. It could be done by lunch today if you call Fast Glass or someone.

NevadaSTi 2007-03-13 09:43 AM

I hear fastglass is not the place to go.

Maybe... I forget the place(s) that have done mine... Either way, it's not all that expensive no matter where you go, especially if you have glass coverage on you insurance. I know all 3 windshields on my cars have been free... even the $900 SVX windshield.

Joeyy 2007-03-21 03:41 PM

Quick check, who is getting teched tomarrow? P.S. don't forget your helmets, I just remembered.

Kevin M 2007-03-21 03:44 PM

I am waiting until the April day actually, since I have forthcoming mods and I have to be there anyway.

Dean 2007-03-21 04:32 PM

My car is in the air missing much of it's suspension, so not me...

sperry 2007-03-21 04:44 PM

My car's still getting a motor.

Nick Koan 2007-03-21 04:47 PM

I'm (hopefully) getting the last bit of my new mods put on on 3/23, so I won't make the 3/22 tech.

MattR 2007-03-21 04:55 PM

Okay, so why again did someone plan this tech day? It looks like no one is even getting teched....If it's less than 4 cars, there's no sense in even holding the day. I'd prefer to let Wes know not to even bother. It's a good thought, but no one is even ready to be inspected...

Should we cancel Thursday nights tech?

Joeyy 2007-03-21 05:00 PM

How many folks from SCCA are coming? The wagon is out of the garage and ready to go.:)

Dean 2007-03-21 05:32 PM

I will be there, just not with a Subaru... I'd vote to cancel / postpone. Maybe the week before the first event would be better. Though I will be in Florida...

MattR 2007-03-21 05:56 PM

Yeah, Derrick, I think we're going to have to cancel this. I'll call Cory tonight and contact Wes.

Well, I'm working April 7th so I guess I'm just.....

MattR 2007-03-21 06:55 PM

Well, actually, lets wait to hear from Cory, He'll check this thread in the morning. He may have some other people coming, I don't know. We'll decide tomorrow.

MikeK 2007-03-21 09:29 PM

I am out of Reno, so it will be the april day for me

MPREZIV 2007-03-22 06:26 AM

Well it's looking like there won't be many of us at all... I had planned on doing this one, but I'll be working the C&C tech day as well, so no biggie there. I think the only people who planned on this event were Me, Derrick, and Brian. 3 is kind of a short number...

Most of the people I've spoken with are planning on the C&C day, due to either not having a car ready or not having the time, so I can hit Wes up and let him know.

MPREZIV 2007-03-22 06:32 AM

I sent an E-mail to Wes. He responded and said with so few people, it seems it would make sense to cancel. So it's done!

See you all at C&C on the 7th! :D

MattR 2007-03-22 03:21 PM

Cool, Derrick asked that I call him when a decision was made so I'll do that now. Bummer we couldn;t get it put together, I guess preperations are running behind.
