Reno Autocross Events 2&3

Anybody looking to make changes to there rides prior to events 2&3? How will the next events look without the Sac ringers? Can Dean make an impression on the SM class and will Mike get back on track and out of the van?

MattR 2007-04-20 04:56 PM

I plan on running fast. If the weather warms up, I'm going to be feelin good. No changes to the car, It's pretty much dialed in now.

sperry 2007-04-20 04:56 PM

Also, who's going to let me co-drive? :(

Joeyy 2007-04-20 05:17 PM

I'm heading over to Dean's tomarrow to roll the fenders of the wagon in preparation for the 235s and I hope to get an elignment next week (depends on Cory's schedule). Anybody know of a good place to purchase some lead for my right foot?

Nick Koan 2007-04-20 09:00 PM

I've now got an UP and DP on my car

Which means more learning curve for the event

Bob Danger 2007-04-20 09:20 PM

The Pylon Assassin is driving so be prepared to run chumps.

Joeyy 2007-04-21 07:31 AM

Well the weather is looking like crap tonight but a warm up is in our future.

Libila 2007-04-21 07:39 AM

I'll be back in Reno in time for the May 12/13 weekend at Stead :D

I didn't know you were going ass-face.

Jonny and Pete, are you guys going both days?

Dean 2007-04-22 03:35 PM

Hey, has something official been said about the moving of SM to another run group? I think Scott, or somebody mentioned that after the first event.

sperry 2007-04-22 03:43 PM

Rumor has it SM is moving to Blue group, probably permanently, depending on the way the next event shakes down.

Dean 2007-04-22 04:46 PM

Well, considering those Green and Blue run in different halves of the day next event, that doesn't really work.

You can't move people between halves of the day without a whole lot of notice and on Sat. B and G run in different halves.

cody 2007-04-22 10:11 PM

What's up with Mike's car? He got a FP Red right?

My car's setup nicely. I could replace the KYB AGX's with Koni's or some other more aggressive struts, but I'll wait until the AGX's die.

Nick, you getting Protuned?

True. Which is why we're going to look at the numbers at the next event and figure out if SM needs to be permanently moved, then send out said notice. At the school/R1 we were way lopsided, and moved ESP, but looking longer term it seems moving SM would be the better choice, partially because most the people in SM are all-day-ers.

God I hate that term.

But yes, I plan on getting a tune at some point. For the moment, I'm just running the Cobb Stage 2 map for my car.

MattR 2007-04-23 03:39 PM

I got word today that there will be a large contingent in town from Sacto again....Should be a crazy fast weekend.

Kevin M 2007-04-23 03:44 PM

Hooray, Pro Class is filling up!

NevadaSTi 2007-04-23 03:53 PM

It should be a fun weekend, I might be running my newly acquired car. Also, it would seem that the weather this weekend will be a lot nicer than the last event's weekend.

wrxkidid 2007-04-23 04:01 PM

if my clutch gets done ill be out there saturday morning and sunday afternoon.

Kevin M 2007-04-23 04:03 PM

If you plan to run Novice or RNP this weekend, PLEASE run in the morning session on Saturday. I will greatly appreciate it!

NevadaSTi 2007-04-23 04:05 PM

OK, thanks for the headsup.

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-23 06:01 PM

Afternoon what?

bxracer69 2007-04-23 07:37 PM

Bob Danger 2007-04-23 09:15 PM

Bob didn't have a good time the last time the big crowd from Sac came up, last year, so he simply plans on not going at all...

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-24 09:56 AM

Bobby's being a poon.

Joeyy 2007-04-24 10:03 AM

What kinda numbers is Sac going to roll in with?

Unless of course that many people are coming.

MattR 2007-04-24 11:13 AM

I don't think it will be more than 15 or so.

Any 'names'?
(Bring it on, they are going down! )

Kevin M 2007-04-24 01:02 PM

No, they're going to Pro class.

At least, any that don't haev strong objections during registration...

NevadaSTi 2007-04-24 01:12 PM

Why would they go to the pro class?

Kevin M 2007-04-24 01:31 PM

Because I am going to beg, plead, cajole, harass, and demand it. Unless I am told flatout "no," out of town drivers who typically go to NT events and Divisionals will be pot in Pro Class. The intention of that class is to allow local drivers to measure themselves against national competitoon, and the ebst way to do that is to add as many high-level drivers to the class as possible at any given event.

They should "want" to be in National Prep because they should "want" to run under national rules because of the higher challenge.

The problem is if they're coming up here just because they want to whoop on our crappy drivers, there's no incentive to run in P.

Depending on who they are -- if they are up here to just run, and are not concerned about Reno's season points, I thought we were going to encourage RNP.

Kevin M 2007-04-24 03:03 PM

YEah, but I'm trying to do what I can to get participation up in P-class, both to encourage local participation so the class doesn't die, and to get that run group filled out a little bit. I have to check to be sure, but right now I don't think we can expect more than 15 drivers in the Blue group at this point for sure.

cody 2007-04-24 03:20 PM

The green group isn't changing right? The wallet cards and the "2007 Schedule" thread should all stay correct as far as we're concerned?

Kevin M 2007-04-24 03:28 PM

For now. Either SM or ESP may get moved however, because our run group is *HUGE* and 2 of the others need help.
