Hot Fuzz.

Best Movie of 2007, and the car he's driving at the end is cool.

MattR 2007-04-22 09:49 PM

I HAVE to go see this this week.

Dean 2007-04-22 10:00 PM

Dean 2007-04-23 06:55 AM

Nick Koan 2007-04-23 07:47 AM

Also, I caught this yesterday.

It is just awesome. I highly recommend it to everyone.

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-23 07:49 AM

I guess I should have been a little more specific. I haven't got a clue where the movie theater is.

Instead of PM'ing me. Tell me where it is? Are we gonna grab a quick bite to eat first? Etc.

Like it was said in the thread, the plan is to go to the 6:30pm Tuesday showing at the Riverside Theater. A quick search on google shows that the theater is located on 11 N Sierra Street, Reno, NV. A visit to maps.google.com show the following map.

So far, the current plans are to meet at 6:00 in the parking garage, but if you'd like to meet earlier for dinner, I'm sure you could propose a time and place to meet before hand.

Dean 2007-04-23 09:57 AM

Parking garage is on W. 1st St. at N. Sierra on the North Westish corner. The theater is on the South Westish corner despite where the green arrow is.

cody 2007-04-23 10:09 AM

Silver Peak beforehand?

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-23 10:25 AM

Google is your friend.

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-24 07:01 AM

I'm not going. I'm cheap.

Dean 2007-04-24 07:40 AM

Taco Bell on Keystone beforehand then? :)

cody 2007-04-24 07:43 AM

Keystone is a mess right now, but I'm in.

Dean 2007-04-24 12:18 PM

I was joking. I think food is on your own.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-04-24 12:20 PM

Dean I thought you said that everyone was invited over to your house for pie and chips?

Oh sure, taunt me with low quality pseudo-Mexican food.

tysonK 2007-04-24 02:09 PM

This thread is a disaster.

cody 2007-04-24 02:14 PM

Shutup.

Meet at the top of the parking garage at 6.

Joeyy 2007-04-24 06:45 PM

I could not make the 6:30 show but made the 3:35 show. We were walking down the street and could hear everyone running up into the parking structure (exhaust). The bike cops down on the street stopped to listen but I didn't look to interested in riding up hill.

Dean 2007-04-25 06:50 AM

Great movie. We all think even Cory might like it. :)

MPREZIV 2007-04-25 07:01 AM

That Cory guy doesn't like ANYTHING! WTF's wrong with him...?

Untrue. He very much likes boys.

MPREZIV 2007-04-25 08:31 AM

John, just because you're gay doesn't mean EVERYONE else is... You can't just assume. :P

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-25 08:36 AM

I don't assume. Remember that one time...when you sodomized that Jew?

cody 2007-04-25 09:11 AM

oy!

Why do you have a thing for sodomy?

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-25 06:46 PM

Hey now who is sodomizing who here?

Bob Danger 2007-04-25 08:25 PM

You talk a lot about putting things up peoples butts, that's all.

NevadaSTi 2007-04-26 07:55 AM

FISTING, FTW!!!

That exhaust you all heard, was probably me!

MPREZIV 2007-05-07 07:01 AM

Bump for I watched Shaun of the Dead this weekend, and I must say, NOTHING about it prompted me to want to watch Hot Fuzz... that is all.

Kevin M 2007-05-07 09:03 AM

Well, in Hot Fuzz the end is a bunch of really sweet shooting and explosions and stuff.

MPREZIV 2007-05-07 10:19 AM

That doesn't help at all... I need more than that in a movie.

Kevin M 2007-05-07 10:25 AM

Actually, much of the humor in Hot Fuzz lies in its parodies of cop buddy action movies. Especially Bad Boys II.

I really hope it's more than just a parody of Bad Boys II. First, because Bad boys II was pretty much already a parody of Bad Boys I, and second, they missed that boat by like 7 years. The only thing I remember from that movie is... um... nothing. 'Cept Will Smith probably said "awww hell naww".

Nick Koan 2007-05-07 12:07 PM

Its a homage to all sorts of buddy cop movies. The two explicitly referenced are Bad Boys II and Point Break, but it is more than just a parody of either of those.

The highway scene where he's mashin in his 550 is cool, except for a couple of the parts the car is CGI...

eggeegg 2007-05-07 12:16 PM

even with the parodies, it wasn't entirely just a spoof of your typical cop movie. i liked the plot. in shawn of the dead, the story is pretty much straight forward - there are zombies and the crew needs to flee to safety, beating up zombies on the way, just like any other zombie movie. hot fuzz isn't as predictable. more stuff to think about and keep you interested. plus it has lots of other original funny material.
