Congratulations! Let me guess, calabria at monte sereno? (I am looking at the exact same model right now)

Nick Koan 2007-05-09 06:39 PM

Yes, Calabria at Monte Sereno.

Got the Plan 1 (smallest one they have). 1800 sq ft 3bd/2bath.

Mike, if you go make sure to ask about the IGT discount. Its like 3% or something.

Make sure you have Ned Nedelander do the wiring, I don't trust the other two with electricity.

MikeK 2007-05-09 08:36 PM

Yes, you have a plethora, El Guapo

tysonK 2007-05-09 09:00 PM

I made him do it.

Good shit Nick! Congrats dude!

Double Phister 2007-05-10 07:16 AM

Sweet!

The idea of your monthly rent never going higher is the best part. Plus you can do whatever you want and not lose your deposit.

JonnydaJibba 2007-05-10 07:18 AM

Sweet mod.

For me it's more the idea that I'm actually buying ownership of something for my monthly mortgage payment, rather than just basically setting my money on fire like I did when I was writing rent checks.

And I thought him making me buy an EVO was bad! Congrats man, it's about time. I'll have to come check it out when it's finished. You get any "options?"

So far, 9 foot ceilings option, archways. Next I get to go to the design studio to pick out the electrical options, tiling, carpet, etc...

Congratulations, man :D

Make sure you get at least 1 220v plug in the garage, and add some 120v ones as well. Most homes now-a-days only come with 1-2 plugs in the garage.

You gonna go with the textured walls?

wrxkidid 2007-05-10 03:09 PM

for sure snag some extra sockets in the garage. the one we are building has like 8

congrats man looks like a super nice place. now whenever im working on a car and something brakes i can call you and youd be like 5 minutes away  so we should pencil in a housewarming party in like 6 months right? haha

cody 2007-05-10 03:18 PM

My Co-worker still bugs me about having a house warming party...I'm like, "Dude, I bought the house a year ago. The house is warm."

JonnydaJibba 2007-05-10 03:21 PM

Wow you really missed the boat on that one.

cody 2007-05-10 03:39 PM

I know, and I'm the captain too. :(

Double Phister 2007-05-10 03:49 PM

+1 on the extra outlets. -1 on the cost.

We added a couple of outlets to the garage and outside on the back of the house. They get used frequently.

We also added a gas line for a future BBQ hookup.

Resessed can lights were way overpriced but we still got a couple of those. 6 in the living room for $100 ea. OUCH!

After the house was built I got a contractor 6 pack at home depot for $35 and installed them in the garage.

Nick Koan 2007-05-10 03:51 PM

I'm thinking I should throw the housewarming party before they put the flooring in.

wrxkidid 2007-05-10 04:33 PM

Double Phister 2007-05-11 07:30 AM

Take lots of pictures. It will help later when you are running wire in the walls or need to know how the power was run.

You can also usually find manuals/install sheets for whatever they are putting in.

I have a bunch of scrap from our granite counters that I will eventually use on a built in BBQ so things match a little.

We saved a couple of spare roof and misc tiles too.
