Elko cop pulled over for DUI by cop husband, had to call for backup

Oh my lord, "paid administrative leave"?!?!

There might be a hideous Tanqueray ad with audio that pops up...

ELKO, Nev. - This might make for a tense time at home.

An off-duty sheriff's deputy was pulled over and charged with driving under the influence — by her husband, a fellow deputy.

Charlotte Moore, 36, a jail deputy and 11-year veteran, was driving her 2004 Pontiac Grand Am when she was pulled over by her husband, Elko County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Moore, a police report said.

She allegedly left before being administered a portable Breathalyzer test, the Elko Daily Free Press reported.

Mike Moore pulled her over again and called the Elko Police Department for backup. He left shortly after officer Shane Daz arrived. Elko Police Department Sgt. Mark Butterfield also was on scene.

Charlotte Moore was released at 1:47 a.m. on Sunday and placed on paid administrative leave, Elko County Undersheriff Rocky Gonzalez said.

Mike Moore was following procedure when he asked for backup, Gonzalez told the newspaper. The sheriff's office supports the police department's actions, he said.

Neither Mike nor Charlotte Moore was available for comment, the Elko Daily Free Press said.

Charlotte Moore reportedly had been drinking approximately two hours earlier at a downtown business group's wine walk, the newspaper said.

Her first crime was driving a Grand Am.

bxracer69 2007-08-15 07:18 PM

hahahahahahahahahahaa.

I would have left too.

left footed whooten 2007-08-15 07:19 PM

What kind of 'wine walk' takes place in Elko? Franzia?

And over here, we have a lovely box of burgundy you might like.

Yeah. She must either be an out of control alchoholic, or they have other serious issues between them for this to have even gone down the "official" route and made the paper.

I can see it now, this will be the script for a future "RENO 911" episode. You gotta love NEVADA. We're blessed!

RE: Franzia Chardonnay Always served chilled and decant it in a large plastic cup for at least 90 seconds.

I like boxed wines, in a beer cup over ice with coca-cola.

left footed whooten 2007-08-16 10:37 AM

^^^what the hell is that concoction called? I can never remember. Red wine and coke...

No mention in the RGJ or any local paper from what I can see. Does Elko even have a paper?

Umm, the article you quoted initially says:

This doesn't really suprise me that any one in nevada did this. but why would somebody pull over his wife. he must have been drunk also.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe he should have called backup before he stopped her and had them pull her over first so he wouldn't be the bad guy... Or maybe he just doesn't like her anyway...

Nick Koan 2007-08-16 01:56 PM

Of course they don't like each other, they are married.

*ba dum ching*

moose 2007-08-16 01:58 PM

Yeah, I can see he is a wife beater kind of a guy. If I was him I would have stopped her then given her a ride home or made her walk, but arrest her, I see a divorce in the future.

I dont know what a VRE swab is, but we a a couple ingredients short of some pancakes!

left footed whooten 2007-08-16 04:54 PM

You'll never eat anything with molasses ever again....after I had to give one (I didn't think the doc was serious) I went home that night and promptly threw away my bottle of molasses. No more molasses cookies for me.

VRE swab to test for a bacteria in your, you know. The 'ICU handshake' .... 'yer gonna feel a little pressure down there...and done!' blech

sperry 2007-08-16 04:57 PM

Wait, milk and molasses enemas are real, you didn't make them up just now? WTF is the point of that? Blech!

If you have to ask...

left footed whooten 2007-08-16 05:07 PM

First off, blech is correct, or wait make that BBBBLLLLLEEEEECCCCCCHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Yes its a powerful osmotic that will drag a shit of you like, well like shit through a goose. Sometimes trauma patients will not have shat for so long their ammonia builds up and makes them batshit confused, like trying to stand up with a cranial drain still in their head. High ammonia is not good.

Also if they haven't crapped for a week or so and they have a surgery on the way, and we've tried every other thing from MoM to mag citrate, its time to make some cookies. It always happens on thedays that they serve beef and barley soup in the caf....

One certain doctor is known for prescribing them, after all, you don't want to have gigantic BM while on the operating table, no? Sterile field? What sterile field.

In case you're feeling backed up:
300cc molassess
200cc whole milk.
Pour together, warm in microwave.

Funnel that shit in there and hope to god they will stay on the bedpan. In the two I've had the displeasure of giving, well, imagine striking oil...but not being happy about it.

one guy we had to give one was so confused and full of ammonia (critical level), that he crawled off the bed with wires all over him, a tube draining his chest cavity, IV's stretching to the max and was trying to shit into a 4' high trashcan....he wasn't tall enough. 4 hours later me and 3 other RN's had him cleaned up and back in bed. 4 hours.... it looked like a horsepen in there. Roadapples everywhere. We had no idea he even had the strength to get up because we couldn't get him to the same morninig. I turn my back to answer the trauma pager for 3 seconds and all hell broke loose in ther, so to speak.

left footed whooten 2007-08-16 05:10 PM

TMI?

You asked....

I just realized we went from cops getting a DUI, to age issues, to trust issues, to stuff going in the butt, then to terrible things flying out of the butt at high velocity. i wonder if dinner's ready?
