That would be SO great if we could have a large turnout!

Sat: Street Tire class runs in the morning, STX & Stock runs in the afternoon.
Sun: Street Tires, STX & Stock all run in the afternoon.

I can't wait, the battle for STX championship is going right down to the end...

I however, will be racing NAS for the last race. Good times, I hope everyone can make it.

AtomicLabMonkey 2003-10-06 08:30 AM

Looks like we're coming up for the last race at Stead. I think we'll make the trip up Friday night, cause SM goes out first group on Saturday. Yeaaaa, 4000ft... my N/A car is gonna be anemic. Guess I'll just have to push it even harder through the corners to make up for it.

 The above list that Art posted, plus now the MM coil-overs with 325lb/in front / 275lb/in rear springs & re-valved Bilstein struts/shocks, C&L 76mm MAF, and I keep fiddling with the ride heights & front end alignment. Still haven't installed the new intake manifold that's sitting in my garage.

BOO 2003-10-06 05:23 PM

Ok well I got a quick question.... How many ponies (No pun intended  ) are you putting out/torque ????

DDMan 2003-10-06 08:15 PM

Alright....still have to confirm, but THANK YOU to anyone letting me/my friends stay the night. I dont care if its a cold floor, if its got a roof, and heater im all for it! Only quesiton is if we run in the AM, will there be a way we can get back to the house to pick up our stuff to drive back (since I dont wanna have a backpack or 2 of stuff sitting out at the auto-x).

Ill also probably go to the drag's and may race (oh well...no time slips). I just wanna make this a good weekend of car beating before I baby her :)

You guys will probably all be staying at my place unless Ben gets back to me. Yes it has a floor and a heater. I also have a code pad to get in my garage, so you will be able to get into my house without a key to get your stuff before you leave. Here is my cell number again - 240-7643 if you need anything in advance.

AtomicLabMonkey 2003-10-07 07:19 AM

Scott, do you have room at your place for Laura and me to crash this weekend?

Sergio - I don't really know how much power the car is making since I've never had it on a dyno... the 302 is rated stock 215hp/285lb*ft at the flywheel... as just a wild assed guess (WAG) I'd say it's about 240-250hp/300lb*ft now based on what other people with similar configurations are making.

We'll have a SECCS tent or two setup at the autoX and plent of trustworthy people around holding down the camp while we're out racing. Plus I've never heard of anything being stolen at a Reno event... 'course this time there's gonna be all these big-city Sacramento folk around... ;) Leaving your bags out while you're racing isn't too big of a deal. They'll just be stacked up amongst the tools, spare tires, jacks, and coolers!

DDMan 2003-10-07 03:09 PM

Alright...for me it would probably just be easier if I can stay at Arthur's house. Its closer to I-80 so I wont be backtracking if I leave my stuff at the house and go back after the auto-x to pick it up.

If this is cool, thanks a TON.

ArthurS 2003-10-07 03:10 PM

Scott's dozing off and not posting.... :)

Here is the updated thread on NASIOC -

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=427097

There is plenty of room as mentioned. Most people are going to be staying at Ben's I would think since its so close to Stead airport. My house is open too.

No problem man. Just give me a holler before you get into Reno if you have trouble finding it. Its pretty easy though.

Unfortunately he wont be running, but will go to the drag strip and to the auto-x

What groups is everyone running in?

MattR 2003-10-07 08:56 PM

Everyone else runs stx, afternoon both days.

Should be a great weekend.

ArthurS 2003-10-07 09:18 PM

Yepum I am running STX. But I will be going out there 7 am with everyone else since you will be at my house. Might as well get my lazy ass up and out there.

Alright... Me and Jesse are gonna leave Sac area around 3-3:30. Im gonna give u (Arthur) a call when Im about 20 mins or so away (a guess). Hopefully it wont take 3 hours to get to Reno. I dont think it will.

That leaves a little time to drop our stuff off to head to the drags. If this isnt early enough let me know NOW!!!

Are you going to squirt them with a garden hose? Thats what I would do. J/K, I wonder what it can be...

Good day everyone. Everyone had some great times and I look forward to tomorrow to attempt to beat my best today.

ArthurS 2003-10-12 12:56 PM

Well, I guess yesterday kicked my ass. I slept through everything this morning and woke up at 1 pm. Shitty. Last day and all. Oh well.

I will have pics and vids posted tonight of both friday night drags and saturday auto-x.

Scott takes STX. So i guess he moves on the SM now. No one is good enough for him in STX. Although next year Theo will be all up ons, he's gonna fight(drive) really hard.

austin does awesome.

I have over 300megs of videos of all our best runs too. Just need a host, since UNR can only host like 50 megs for me. :(

sperry 2003-10-12 09:03 PM

Yeah, Austin really showed up most of the Reno Region... He won SM Saturday and took 2nd to that awesome BMW on Sunday. I think we were all glad we got to see the mustang out there... but maybe he shouldn't come back... ;) (I'm kidding... I think Austin really needs to get a job in Reno and move up here before the next season begins in April... :))

It was also dope that so many Sacramento people came out for the race Saturday! We really need to plan more joint events and meets, since you guys have a great group of people out there!

Something tells me SM is gonna be a pretty competative class next season... I think me, Theo and Dean will be in there (assuming I don't get and STi which is looking more and more likely). SM's cool 'cause it's more of a "run what you brung" class, with less pansy restrictions like STX has. Unfortunately, I think the current crop of players in Reno's SM would get mopped up by other region's SM cars... I've seen some of the SM cars that run in AAX, and I've seen them stomp on Austin by several seconds! We're gonna have our work cut out for us if we're gonna run SM at nationally competative speeds!

[sappy music on]

I wanna thank all the Subaru people who ran STX. I've never had as much fun autocrossing as I did this season, and it was all because of the great sportsmanship and comraderie of you SECCS and Reno SCCA people! Everyone was willing to help each other out, no matter how close the points were, and everyone was friendly and upbeat! There's nothing worse than trying to race with a bunch of people who's egos are their primary personality trait. Reno SCCA has got a wonderful group of people, and I thing the SECCS members are the best of 'em!

I especially want to thank Theo for an awesome points battle. Racing is *way* more fun when there's someone there at every event with the potential to beat you... on every run I knew I had to push my own personal limits, because if I didn't Theo was right there to capitalize! Thanks Theo, I'm looking forward to running SM against you next season!

[/sappy music off]

Yeah, the Sias & Reitmeir trailer queen M3's walk all over me regularly.. I've been stoked that I've gotten to within about 5 seconds of their times out at Atwater the last couple of events. I think the Mustang could beat them if it had more development, but it'd take more power ($$$$$$$$$$$$$), wider tires ($$$$$), less weight ($$$), and a little more suspension work ($$). This weekend was a lot of fun though (minus the nightmare traffic getting there and coming back), I'm glad I got to come up and check out one of Reno's events. And who knows, maybe we will be moving up to that area someday... 8)

Now I gotta go fix my leaking radiator ($$$).... dammit.
