Tight... soooo tight... so when am i gonna get something other than Gear Head!? am i not important enough!?

tysonK 2003-10-18 02:15 PM

and all along I thought I was gonna be the first to buy an EEE-VOH.

as a side note:

I went and got a freakin hair cut at like cost cutters or great clips or whatever the place is and the lady who cut my hair took like 45 minutes and talked to me whole time about, her work schedule, traffic, wheather, her and her husband riding a motorcycle to the bay area, you know, stuff I really, REALLY dont give a shit about. Where is a good place for a cut where they wont make you sit through almost an hour of mind numbing chatter, and I had to nod and make small laughing sounds so I didn't look like a complete misanthrope. It really makes me want to go and shave my head with clippers instead of getting a real haircut, Am I the only one who thinks it's torture having to fein small talk when geting your hair cut. BAH!

ArthurS 2003-10-18 06:16 PM

I go to Happy Lookers off Moana. Its a good shop and I have known the owner for 10+ years.

BOO 2003-10-19 07:58 AM

Hey.. That's EXACTLY the same place i go to and ahve been for YEARS as well .. the owner is really cool .. He and his wife run the place and everytime I go there as soon as I walk into the door he says, hello Sergio (In his middle eastern Accent) and gets me in, no waiting .. I think its cool to know that you are appreciated as a Customer and not as "Revenue" :D

Looks good!

Sorry to say Mike and Matt..... am starting to really like the looks of the EVO over the STi. It must be the lack of the monster hoodscoop.

Good lord... $2300 for some friggin rims? Those better be like 2-lb ultra-strong racing wheels for that price. I could throw my struts in the trash and put a complete dual A-arm front suspension on my car for that kind of money...

Welcome to high end Japanese products. If we all had 'stangs we could just head over to Sears and get some ARs for $75 a pop. :P

Read: Ridiculously Overpriced. A friend of mine who autocrosses a CP car has lightweight dedicated racing rims that I think cost about the same as those Art posted, with racing slicks mounted on them. They're like 16x11-12" wide with 315 or some other such monstrous size tires. Now those Volk's are only 18(unnecessary diameter, just adds weight)x8? Doesn't sound like very good performance for your dollar to me...

Or better yet, just use the stock 17x8's that came with the car for a total of $0, that's what I'm currently racing with. What's an AR?

American Racing of course!

sperry 2003-10-29 12:55 PM

Yeah, but what you're buying for that rediculous is shipping from Japan and exclusivity. I think Rota's are sweet looking rims, but since they're a dime a dozen everyone has 'em and they fail to turn heads anymore. People will pay that rediculous amount *because* they cost so much, and therefore will be rarely seen on cars in the US.

Needless to say, I'm not one of those people. My Rota Attacks cost 1/4 the price of the rims they're replicas of, are lighter and stronger, and fit over bigger breaks than the originals. Now that's what I'm talking about!

ArthurS 2003-10-29 12:58 PM

Same as my formels. 8)

 I should start an import performance shop on the side to sell overpriced crap to all the riced-out street racers (don't get me wrong, I'm calling anyone here that)... it could pay for my actual on-track racing. I'd be rich! I could sell quality products like an "Engine block oil bypass kit" (guaranteed +50hp from not having to pump all that oil around the motor...), and "Cross-drilled Brake Lines" (more brake cooling from the air passing through the lines)!
