Is it snow tire day?
 

I'm thinking today may be the day the snows should go on the car.

Storms coming through all week and low temps...

Got them on while I had a little sunshine around 10:00. I swear a couple donkeys were watching from across the gully... :)

I put mine on last weekend. I figured it would be warm and sunny for a while after doing so.

I always put mine on by the middle of October.

Switched straight from autox tires to my 3 year old Wintersport 3D's after the last event. This will be the 3rd time they've seen snow this year.

This is my 2nd winter with my 3D's. So awesome.

Just shoveled/pushed 4"s or so around the driveway. Light stuff fortunately.

Subie just got snows on(stockers) today and The Audi gets(Blizzaks) them on tomorow. The toy has All Terrains so I am not worried about it.

my all seasons sucked tonight driving home... Going to buy some blizzaks tomorrow. Need them BAD

Just now I went out side my front porch area to take these pictures of my 4Runner. As you can see, it is still snowing.

This makes me happy. :D

It was crazy slippery on my way home from work at around 8pm or so. The wet roads from earlier in the day froze up then got dusted with 2in of snow. Tomorrow morning when the sun first hits the roads is going to be brutal for the commute.

I was almost side swiped by a Mercedes SUV tonight. Luckily I was out testing the winter tires and I swerved around him like a pro. Then I thought, "crap, that guys insurance would have fixed my door."

I don't think we have to worry about the sun this morning, the packed down many inches of snow will be trouble enough.

Snow Donkeys are everywhere!!! Stay home if you can. No matter how good your tires are, other idiots are not and you will make a good target.

Yayayayayyay snow!! Man I wish I was up there to enjoy it. The weather people said it was supposed to snow here, but it didn't make it down to our place. Just rain. :/

There's a good 14-16" on my patio table. Took just over an hour to get from Stead to my GF's work on Moana. Lot's of stuck cars on the surface streets. No, your 2WD pickup will not make it up that hill, Sir.

Add one vote for Blizzaks here!! The WS-60's are handling this stuff like crazy!! :D

speaking of blizzaks. I wanna go get some today or tomorrow.. which ones do you guys reccomend? I gotta make it over the pass to santa cruz for the weekend..

I have used the LM-25's and the WS-60's. I prefer the WS-60's as they are more aggressive in the snow and seem to stop better on ice since they are a "Studless Ice & Snow", whereas the LM-25's are "Performance Winter" and give up a little ice and snow traction for better handling in the dry although I don't think it is that huge of a difference.

If you have dedicated Winters, you might as well go for the more aggressive ones, but it's your call. The Wintersport 3D's are not very aggressive for snow ice, just a little better than all seasons so I can just leave them on all Winter with no downside. Just ask yourself how much driving you do in the snow. If I lived in Tahoe, I'd go more aggressive.

Oh yah, I plowed through some deep snow this morning. My grill and wheels are all packed full.

Oh ya, I was plowing quite a bit. I might need to raise it up some, since this winter is supposed to be pretty big.

Yeah, I heard my radiator hissing the morning when I got out. I think I packed too much snow up in there and was blocking airflow.

You know it's a good storm when you have snow coming up over your hood ;) :)

Took 3 hours to clear my large driveway and it keeps coming down. My cheapo snow blower helps, but it is a crappy 1 stage, so it sucks and has to be pushed/pulled, no assist. Any lake people ever see a deal on a tracked or big wheeled 2 stage, let me know.

I'm just glad I cleared the 4-6" last night, or it would have been too much for my blower.

I was watching my temp gauge and it didn't raise above normal. Fortunately only the lower grill got packed full. The one above the bumper was only partially blocked.

I am not looking forward to clearing my driveway in the dark tonight. I'll probably just throw some salt on it and do a partial dig tomorrow morning in lieu of my morning workout.

There's no such thing as a "good deal" on a used snow blower on the 1st day of heavy snowfall of the year.

Unless you consider 200% markup a "good deal" because the alternative is not getting out of your driveway for two weeks.

I know, I was talking about in the spring/summer or if they know somebody moving to warmer climates.

My 1 stage will probably survive the rest of the season, it is just marginally less effort/time than shoveling, but at least it doesn't kill your back.

Yes, it's to help out the mailman. But you only have to clear one shovel width to meet the law. No big deal.

We have locking cluster mailboxes in my neighborhood. Hmm.

Blizzack Revo 1 here. They aren't performance, but they are leaps and bounds better than the Dunlop M3's I used to have.

Doing it blind is extremely impressive.
