Speculate on what MattR is up to...

He is selling both wide sets of wheels for his '04 STI including the most recently purchased and coveted gold RPF1s.

Is he...

Quivering in his boots because I may have a working car in '10? :)

Selling the '04 and
...buying a '10?
...buying Randy's BP car?

Dong a hub conversion?

or something else...

Wild speculation is encouraged...

Kevin M 2009-12-26 01:54 PM

F125.

Hahaha...Kevin, uhhhh...sorry, the power-to-weight ratio advantage goes away when I roll in an F125?

Secondly, This ought to be interesting...there are things in the works, I'd love to see what you people come up with...

Finally, no Dean, I'm not scured :P

MattR 2009-12-26 02:15 PM

BTW, the BP car could be fun on street tires.

sperry 2009-12-26 02:26 PM

Unless your doing something that starts with P and ends in orsche, getting rid of the STI is a bad idea. :p

Clearly he wants to trade his STI for my '08 2.5i.

Please?

Remember when this race prepped Yaris showed up at Auto-X?

MattR 2009-12-27 07:55 PM

My sister just picked up a loaded 2010 Outback today, I wasn't crazy about the new look and all, until I went on a test drive, WOW! Sweet car. Those new Outbacks are beefy and super nice inside.

tysonK 2009-12-27 10:44 PM

^I told my sister/brother in law to get one also. I wonder if they'll pull the trigger.

doubleurx 2009-12-28 11:04 AM

They do look pretty bomber. If only those headlights didn't remind me of Jack Nicholson.

Did it have that new continuously variable transmission? I am curious how well those things work.

MPREZIV 2009-12-28 12:59 PM

Haven't tried the Subaru version yet, but I can tell you Nissan CVT = Poop.

Well, I don;t knwo how much power you loose with that tranny, but its like accelerating a snow mobile, except super smooth. It really quite remarkable, you keep waiting for the shift "bump" and it never comes. I say thumbs up on Subaru's version.

Aha! based on this, and that he sold another intake we can surmise that MattR has in fact gone big intake and god knows what else on his STI...

Maybe.

Fess up Matt, or the other Matt will rat you out if we get him liquored up. :)

I think he did the "no more intake in the fender to get crushed by cones" mod.
