New non-Subie project...

Despite not getting a single "happy birthday" yesterday on this dead-ass board, I got the ultimate birthday present a day early. Kennedy Jean Taylor was born Aug. 6 at 5:23pm. She is the cutest most-perfect little baby - only 5lbs-8oz. Both she and her mother are home already after a scheduled C-section and are doing great.

Finally somebody started a project that will take longer to finish than all of mine!

And most of us gave you an HBD on faceyspace, you old geezer.

MikeK 2012-08-08 06:47 PM

Congratulations, dad!

Nick Koan 2012-08-08 08:08 PM

Happy Birthday x2

100_Percent_Juice 2012-08-08 08:45 PM

That doctor looks like a total creep. Congrats!

k-dogg39 2012-08-08 09:20 PM

Congrats!

MattR 2012-08-08 10:06 PM

Yeah, great work there Matt. +1 for small cute baby girls...they're the best! Saw your pics on Facebook, she's cute. Your birthday no longer matters, we're just trying to help you get used to that...

sperry 2012-08-09 01:16 AM

I figured you were kinda too busy to check the forums for HBD wishes. :?:

Congrats on the baby! I gotta say, a scheduled c-section is sounding like the way to go... I'm getting crazy anxious waiting on Lisa to decide to have ours!

A1337STI 2012-08-09 08:40 AM

congrats and happy birthday (both of you!) :)

I'm about 7 months away from starting a "new project" as well

Nick Koan 2012-08-09 08:46 AM

Jesus that's a lot of babies in this club now.

Do a search for all my whining and rants over the years. There've been a lot of babies in this club for years. ;)

Having a new baby is a lot like combat - long stretches of boredom punctuated by moments of distress, mayhem, and sheer terror.

Well here are two of my babies - my 17yo daughter holding her new 40-minute-old little sister. :)

I bet a lot of you remember Audrey when she was 9 or so.

That, and the Plan is always worthless when it's time to put it into motion.

ScottyS 2012-08-10 12:28 PM

Hey Congrats Matt! And HBD too. Yeah, I remember your "little" kids up at the Robb Dr. meets. They sure grow fast when you feed 'em!

MattR 2012-08-30 12:38 PM

Man, isn't that like 5 babies on this board in the last year? Damn.

Was there a power outage or something 9 months ago?

MikeK 2012-08-30 01:01 PM

Congratulations, Rory!

Ha, I meant Scott and Lisa! I already said congrats to you!

And congrats to you also Rory! Lots of future Subaru owners being born.

sperry 2012-08-31 11:09 AM

Congrats Rory!

You getting any sleep? I'm usually up until 1 or 2... then I eek out maybe 2 or 3 hours of sleep before it's diaper time again.

*sigh*

van 2012-08-31 07:04 PM

Congrats guys!

100_Percent_Juice 2012-08-31 07:59 PM

I remember back to when I thought having one kid was hard.

rory_a 2012-09-04 03:28 PM

Thanks all!

I'm not doing too bad - I'm back at work so I try to let Jenn get some sleep once I get home, and handle the shift until midnight, she takes over after that so I can get sleep before work, then I take care of the 6am shift before I get ready to head out. She's off through mid December so taking the middle of the night shift isn't too bad. All that said, still tired. And it's hard when you typically have headaches four or five days a week - now I'm in a constant state of headache.

Definitely need to work on keeping him up as much as possible during the day so he sleeps more through the night though, he starts fussing once the lights go out.

sperry 2012-09-04 09:52 PM

We've got the same problem. Kid sleeps like a brick all day long. As soon as it'd bed time... it's like he just wants to go crazy.

MikeK 2012-09-04 10:25 PM

I guess this is the appropriate thread
