Andros ice racing! It's on again Sunday 9-10am since I missed the first 45 minute...

Dean 2004-03-04 05:58 PM

OK, compared to this, drifting is weak!

I really dont think drifting can be considered weak compared to ANY other type of motorsport, different but equal

P.S. I understood what you meant.. just had to say that.

I liken it to figure skating. Any motorsport competition where the winner is determined by subjective judging, rather than an objective stopwatch, is not real racing and therefore "weak" in my opinion. I'm sure other's opinions may vary.

The reason for the relative "weak" comment was that these ice racers are in an almost continious state of 2 and or 4 wheel drift from what I could see.

To give you an idea, at the end of the race, after splashing the course marshels with a tail wag, one car did what appeared to be an entirely intentional 360 and continued without losing much speed at all. Not a burn out, but I'm guessing a turn in, hand brake, counter stear and gas as approriate and clean no tail wag exit 360 degrees later all without losing much forward momentum.

Here are some cool pics from the 2000 series. I can't find any quantity of newer stuff, just single shots here and there.
