Nice article.

I've played with the brakes on an F125 kart before and it had the dual master cylinders, but I had no idea that the linkage between them was for adjusting the bias! I just figured the cylinder's were sized differently and that was what set the bias.

Thanks for the info. I'm installing disk brakes on my Karman Ghia and would like to install a proportioning valve. This post helps.

Thanks!

I have a friend who owns a Karmann Ghia his parents bought new in '67. He's put 3 different motors in it and replaced most of the rest of the car at least once, so if you have any tough questions about the car let me know and I'll ask him about them.

I wonder if he knows were to get a proportioning valve for a VW. Or if he has any handling tricks.

I haven't seen many application specific P/V's out there. Just get a P/V from one of the brake vendors like Wilwood. Depending on what adapters you can or can't get, you might have to get SAE flare nuts and cut/flare the hard line for 45* double flare.

I just found a source. Summit has them for $40 on up.
