This is what happens when you jump your STi (bending all 4 wheels, and ruining the bumper and front lip in the process)
NOTE: I DID NOT DO THIS ON PURPOSE
http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...0/IMG_1683.jpg

There's still a few little miscellaneous things I need to do to get the car where I want it (paint work, new coilovers, blah blah blah)

100_Percent_Juice 2011-10-26 09:39 PM

Sweet car! Now you must explain the jump.

There's no way to say this and not sound condescending, so here goes: where the eff do you kids get all of your money??

Thank you! I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with Blackwood Canyon in Tahoe, but my dad wanted me to take him for a ride there. I had never been on the road before. Lots of big "woopdie doos" I guess you could call them, and I went WAY to fast over one I didn't see.

All I am going to say is that I am incredibly lucky punk-ass kid.

bigrobwoot 2011-10-26 10:06 PM

That's what I figured. At least you don't try to hide it or downplay it. Good luck with the car, looks like fun! And generally, when there's a huge dent in your oil pan, you don't have to say it wasn't on purpose

Nick Koan 2011-10-26 11:01 PM

Nice looking car. Any pics with the Rays wheels mounted? Or are those still in the box?

GusGus91 2011-10-26 11:33 PM

Dammit Joe. Now I actually have to post my build.. And I feel like my build isnt shit compared to yours. :(

I am pretty sure he is going to keep boost and tune fairly conservative till he has a built motor. You could buy a built motor with how much those seats were!

I say do drop in pistons when you do the turbo kit! No need to do more then pistons with 30r

Thanks! Still in the box. Think I might wait until next spring to mount them, not sure though. Getting them to fit is going to be a bitch, if it ends up being too much herrafrush I'll sell them

 I know something is going to go wrong eventually, but like Sam said, going to keep it relatively conservative.

I think I'm most likely going to do the P&L stage 1 short block if something goes wrong, hopefully not for a while though.

Stock MY07+ STi = Cracked Ringlands

A1337STI 2011-10-27 01:17 PM

I think you two should drag race and see which one is faster (in a straight line) does RFR every do Drag races or just sac town?

Joe do you have a specific HP / TQ target? or just building it up to be awesome period. ? :)

How big was the jump? I've jumped my STI a few times with out any rim damage ... but then again i was on taller tires. i was jumping on purpose about 10 miles east of carson on sunrise pass. but i was running over the jump slowly and then repeating it 5mph faster until i eventually left the ground (and still under the rural speed limit!) :)

stock block hta green 21 psi=fun/no problem. on the other hand i just decided to put pistons in for safe measure. plenty of people make good power on bigger turbos with stock block. just dont be surprised if something does happen

X379 2011-10-27 03:29 PM

car looks great, going to be an expensive build. loving the stance with those rpf1's and the damd...killer. What are your goals with the car?

Hoping for somewhere in the 350ish whp range. I don't really remember to be honest. I slightly nose dived into the other woopdy doo, then the back slammed back down.

Thank you! Just looking for a fun street car mostly. Hopefully will get a few chances to take it to the track occasionally too.

w00t!

I emailed P&L today after I got everything as I thought they did not coat the piping, turns out they did it in silver ceramic. Really hard to freaking tell. I'm an idiot

Just missing the fuel pump from them, they said they are gunna look into it tomorrow.

k-dogg39 2011-10-27 05:59 PM

Looking good.

Did you sell your wagon?

JoeWRX 2011-10-27 06:09 PM

Thank you sir! Yes I did, really gunna miss that car :(

GusGus91 2011-10-28 02:01 PM

Pfft mines only gonna be a little faster because of the E85! At least you can still DD yours jackass. lol

IheartSTI 2011-10-28 02:57 PM

man i love that prova flat bottom steering wheel. I am trying to find a wrx or sti bag so i can buy the damd wheel. i cant be rocking the same one as you since we both have the same wheels already!

JoeWRX 2011-10-28 03:06 PM

Sam you should check out the DAMD and GTspec wheels. Both flat bottomed and awesome.

I *much* prefer a removable wheel over a D shaped wheel (assuming the goal is a wheel that allows getting in/out of deep bolstered seats easier). 'Course you have to lose the airbag. But round wheels are a lot better for control in a spin or in tight corners, etc.

But I'm rarely looking for cool/unique parts... I'm looking for functionality.
