anybody know of any shops hiring entry level positions like a lube tech or something?

Kevin M 2010-05-13 03:47 PM

I hear Nissan of Reno has an opening.

They would need 2-3.

Are you guys talking about what I think you are talking about?

Dean 2010-05-14 06:30 AM

Yes. There is no longer a reason to take your Subaru to Nissan. Cory is at the new KS shop. I think their first paying customer drops off a car today.

What about Bob? I'd let him refill my turbo.

Dean 2010-05-14 07:57 AM

I apologize. I think Bob is still there and he has done a bunch of tire mounting and such for me in the past. Wonder if this is an opportunity for him to move up at Nissan? Hope so.

seriously?

Well, I was being jocular, but if you have any prior experience yes, they have at least one tech opening.

dang it, no actual work experience but I am in TMCC's auto tech program.

Bob Danger 2010-05-16 10:27 AM

They recently moved Kenny off the lube rack, and hired some kid fresh out of uti. I'm still there doing light line.

You imply they'll still need a tech after all of Cory's customers start going to KSpeed.

tysonK 2010-05-17 10:29 AM

He also implies he knows their hiring plan.

Kevin M 2010-05-17 10:51 AM

Tyson implies they *have* a plan.

Winner!

WRXlerate 2010-05-19 12:17 PM

Haven't heard much about KSpeed, why hasn't anyone posted about them here on the board? Location?

They're not quite officially open yet. It's the shop started by Matt (Knucklesplitter here on the board). Cory (mpreziv) is working there, so don't waste your time bringing your cars to Nissan unless you need some repair work dne by Bob Danger.

I'm sure Matt will post up a "grand opening" type thread once the doors are officially open.

WRXlerate 2010-05-19 02:32 PM

That grand opening is what I have been waiting for, I heard they were opening at the last autox so I was expecting to see something here on the board. Someone had mentioned their first paying customer so I thought maybe I was just out of the loop....well I am out of the loop but was still interested in getting some work done.

WRXlerate 2010-05-19 02:34 PM

sorry AWD, we'll try to get this thread back on track, I derailed it.
I don't know of any shops hiring at the moment, unless you have body shop skills/tools. :(
