Purchased another car...

Couldn't say no to this one either. I am a sucker.

1992 Acura Legend. Original Owner. 118k. Owner was a judge for Reno Courts. Car is in wonderful condition for being 15 years old. Runs great, looks great, and overall I am very impressed.

The purplish tint is the first thing to go. Only issues to get fixed are the power antena doesn't seem to go up and the multi-disk CD changer isn't working the greatest right now either. I can be happy with out those things.

Some crappy photo's the privious owners took:

as long as it has working AC for vegas, you are good to go!

ArthurS 2007-02-15 04:17 PM

AC is solid. Just want to replace the tint and get some Rota's for it and I am set. No need to try and make the thing go fast.

I had an '88 Legend... very nice cars... they were even better in the year you got! (2 door FTW!)

Just watch out on that A/C... it's probably the old freon stuff and the conversion to the new stuff will run like $400 at least. :( Don't break any of the seals! I F'd an A/C line on my SVX, but I lucked out as 1994 was the 1st year after Subaru switched to the new stuff, so all it needed were some new seals and a recharge.

I really like the light colors too ('cept for the purple tint... blargh!). The white on white will be nice and cool in the hot Vegas sun!

ArthurS 2007-02-15 05:47 PM

the privious owners already did the AC conversion.

The purple tint is going. Who did everyone use here in Reno again for tint jobs? I would like a dark dark tint.

You might have better luck with the tint in Vegas... I think the laws there are more relaxed, aren't they? Or is it a state-wide law?

If you find someone cool locally let me know, I still need to tint the 9 windows in the SVX that no one will touch.

When I got my RX8 from the Vegas dealership, they had already put the 'desert package' on it including the darker tinted windows. When the guy here re-did the replacements (after the sandstorm), he said he couldn't go that dark on the fronts, because it wasn't legal here. But I also thought it was a state law, weird.

Okay, so it sounds as if I will wait till I get down there to get that done.

Other then that, I am going to try and get the pinstripes off this weekend. Only other thing I would like done to this is some nicer rims. I know ROTA will fit these cars (I think they are 5x114.5 or whatever). Think there would be any issue with an 18" rota wheel on this?

Kevin M 2007-02-16 01:59 PM

What size are the OEM tires? If they are more than 25" tall you can probably do 18s.

ArthurS 2007-02-16 03:39 PM

Subydude said I can do 18's as long as the offset is 45 or greater.

Does that sound about right?

And does anyone know how to remove painted on pin-stripes? Or is that to much.

Kevin M 2007-02-16 04:21 PM

I'm thinking about tires. Since it's basically a commuter, if it were me I wouldn't want to go very wide (225s is probably going to be right) so if the stock tires are less than 25" tall, you might have issues with finding a proper tire size.

allseasons in reno is good for tint. my friend got his done there and mine is going in after i get my guages and some mula

^ allseasons tinted my front windows on the ION because trimline wouldnt go that dark, and I have to say they did a pretty good job for the price. and i didnt even need an appointment.

I had Custom Window tinting on Wrondel Way do mine. Absolutely fabulous.

That looks like a peach! Congrats!

...I wish I could say the same for mine. *coughsecretcough*
