I saw a ghost this morning!!

So I wrecked my silver '99 RS back in Dec. '05, literally 3 weeks after moving to Seattle. I parted out all my aftermarket parts, suspension, intake, pulley, etc..... before insurance took the vehicle. It was totaled by insurance and taken to it's resting place.

Fast Forward to this morning......

On my commute this morning on southbound 405, I saw my car. I took a double take and came to the conclusion that it was indeed my car. Somebody rescued it from the wrecking yard and fixed it. It looked good.

If you put it totally back to stock, how do you know it was yours?

Probably from all the cone marks from years past:lol:

SlickNick112 2007-10-08 03:24 PM

Here's why I knew it was my car.

Same color. (ya, I know, lots of RS's with same color)
Same tint (silver chrome tint, less common)
SECCS.ORG stickers (the clincher, same location, back lower window.)

Not too many members in the Pacific Northwest with ties to SECCS. I though I would possibly be the only one. At least with a silver '99RS. I miss my baby. But it was good to see her running again.

And the cone marks!

JonnydaJibba 2007-10-08 03:31 PM

Haha, why wouldn't they remove the decal? Perhaps an old broad?

SlickNick112 2007-10-08 03:34 PM

I'm confused about that too. Any new members registered on here from Seattle?

It was obviously too cool to remove.

Isn 't ShawnS up there?

MattR 2007-10-08 03:48 PM

My best friend Nick (totoned on this board) is up there, he has a 03 RS.

dknv 2007-10-08 03:55 PM

Alright, 2nd life for the RS!
After my wagon was totalled, the guy who bought it from salvage found me after following a trail from the seccs stickers on the rails. He wanted to know exactly what happened to the car.

SlickNick112 2007-10-08 04:07 PM

That makes sense, but would be sort of creepy having your old car following you.
He knew it was your old car, I'm assuming?

Bob Danger 2007-10-08 04:35 PM

I still see parts of my FC in Carson every time I'm down there. I get sad.

MattR 2007-10-08 06:54 PM

I wonder what happened the my riced out WRX wagon? I wish Bobby had bought that thing.

If it would've been a stick, I think I would have.

Maybe they had a dent in their door and they just found your door at a junkyard and put it on their silver RS.:~:

Not when it's on the back side window, and it's a coupe. Nice thought though.
