Clean 2005 STi for sale in Reno

2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi 40,000 miles. Always garaged, never even been in bad weather. COBB Stage II. Comes with a COBB accessport tuner. Full COBB sport suspension with new springs and upgraded swaybars. Fresh powdercoat on the stock BBS wheels and newer tires. Tinted windows, WRX wing and trunk lid. Clear bra. Interior is immaculate. Pioneer AVIC-D2 touch screen navigation system and satellite radio. Full aftermarket alarm system with remote start, and key chain alert up to a mile away. Full set of Defi gauges, oil pressure, boost and exhaust gas temperature, in a dash mounted console. Maintained very well, always with synthetic oils. The car has never even seen a race track let alone raced. The power upgrades have only been installed for the last 5000 miles. I have all the stock parts, suspension, exhaust and radio. I wish I could keep it. $22,000 obo.

Back on up

HighDesertSTi 2009-06-02 12:00 PM

ttt, price too high? Nobody looking for one?

cody 2009-06-02 12:33 PM

Almost of us already have a Subaru. :P

But yah, I'd blame the economy.

I wish you could keep it. It's really nice.

GusGus91 2009-06-02 01:19 PM

I saw it on craigslist, did you try putting it on the CL for the surrounding cities within a couple hundred Miles? Put it on Cars.com?

Do those, and if no results, yea. try lowering the price a little. It seems kind of on the higher side for an 05

Nice car though!:)

skimonkey30 2009-06-02 03:17 PM

bring the price down and you'll get some hits

I sold mine with basically the same mods and less mileage for 21k

SpamMan 2009-06-02 04:41 PM

sick sti... +1 if you would lower the price you might get so hits...

HighDesertSTi 2009-06-02 04:49 PM

Yeah it may be a little high. I'll do a couple more posts, lower it a little and see what happens. Thanks for the input guys. I wish I could keep it but the economy finally got to me.

Good luck with the sale, I would love to have this car but I'm 21 and insurance for an STi before you are 25 is insane!

Thanks man, I can imagine insurance would be pretty crazy.

I have an 04 sti and my ensurance was no much different than when I had my 07 wrx

Imprezif on here just bought an 06 sti and his insurance is $182 a month. He's 24. :D

Jeikun 2009-06-10 05:41 PM

The other day, just for fun, I requested a few quotes on an '05 STI. On my own policy, with the safe driver, good grades, etc... Statefarm quoted me $182 as well. It's double what I'm currently paying, but I'm just on the policy, not on my car specifically...

TL;DR: Request quotes, you might be surprised what you could find.

WRX06TR 2009-06-10 05:46 PM

I got a quote from statefarm, allstate, and somewhere else. Clean record, good grades, ect...lowest quotes I got was $375 A MONTH!!!

I will stick with my WRX anyway, almost paid off and I have had it since it had 2 miles on it I don't want to ditch it for a used STi. Plus with more time my WRX should be able to embarrass most STi's

Same thing for me, but with AAA, and they wanted $380 a month for an 06 sti. With good grades, a ticket, and all that good crap. But I'm doing the same thing. Mine's payed off, and I also wanna make it emberass all the sti's. haha

One day...

Sorry for derailing this thread but just remember to do it right. Your tranny is going to need to be upgraded! And don't forget the non power upgrades, nobody cares how much power you have if it doesn't handle and doesn't stop.

I tend to disagree with the status quo and say that its possible to build a seriously bad WRX and not have to start with an STi, just takes time, careful part selection, and money...

Of course it's possible to build an awesome WRX if you have time and money. Step one, spend the time and money swapping an STi motor, transmission, suspension, and hubs/brakes into a WRX. Step two... um, wait, that's pretty much it... unless you're going to race it... then start welding reinforcements to all the places that the WRX is missing them, and replace all the control arms, bushings, etc as well.

Add turbo/intercooler/fuel system to taste.

cody 2009-06-11 08:55 AM

Blah, anything beyond stage 2, suspension, brakes, and wheels and you would have been better off with an STi if you ask me.

WRX06TR 2009-06-11 09:44 AM

Yeah, I can't argue with your experience. Drivetrain would definitely be a mod but I wouldn't even mess with the STi motor, I would just go all out with a Cosworth built block (which technically does have an STi engine case and crankshaft), Cosworth Heads, Cosworth intake manifold, APS Twinscroll turbo set up...pretty much replicate the DynoComp STi (engine wise). And I have no idea who I would want to tune it...

http://www.airpowersystems.com/wrx/a...p/2006_sti.htm

But I won't ever go that far. I would rather have an Evo or a Supra for a racecar. The craziest I would ever go would be an 18g with meth. Keeping it conservative and on the stock motor. Either a PPG or MFactory gearset, get crazier with suspension and brakes. But not much more than that.

Jeikun 2009-06-11 09:34 PM

$94. It went up $4 after I got a ticket for going 15 over.

wrxkidid 2009-06-14 05:40 AM

So in the evo with full coverage my insurance was only 81$ a month...it was on my families insurance, and i cat say if I was the primary drive or not but I was most definatly a driver on it... Does it matter how long you have been insured by the company, because my dad has been insured by the same company since he got his license.

Your insurance was that cheap because you were on your parents plan. I remember when I was on my parents plan, it was like $35 a month for my truck.
