No, I want to have a Tuesday "evaluation meet" with 3 or 4 people so we can check out Sparky's and talk to their management and see if the place might work for us.

I doubt we'd change the location with only 2 days notice... I expect this week's meet to be at the normal location... but maybe next week we can move it if everything checks out.

Better not be wearing underwear or you'll be finding yourself at the top of that flagpole.

Kevin M 2007-01-08 04:26 PM

I'll be there tomorrow at 7.

knucklesplitter 2007-01-09 08:37 AM

I need beer tonight. I be d'ere at 1900 hours, yo!

WRX06TR 2007-01-09 02:14 PM

I might come down...Grand Turismo 4 is getting boring...

sperry 2007-01-09 09:34 PM

So knucklesplitter, nKoan, MattR and I checked out Sparky's tonight (wtf happened to the rest of you slackers!? :P). Anyway, it's probably too small for us... I don't think they'd be able to reliably hold us enough room, especially once summer hits and we've got 20+ people. Plus the food is about the same as Bully's with less choices, there's no parking, no video games for the kids, etc.

Any suggestions for another place to check out?

Nick Koan 2007-01-09 09:37 PM

I was thinking on the drive back home, that the sports bar at the Tamarack might not be too bad.

Bob Danger 2007-01-09 10:07 PM

Not to mention its not Starbuck, and Coldstone adjacent.

Wouldn't that be an even bigger hassle for the <21 crowd than Bully's currently is?

JonnydaJibba 2007-01-10 08:09 AM

Sorry! I got caught up in some stuff. My whites still aren't done.

Oh yeah, good point. I wasn't even thinking of them. But, on the other hand, I've never seen someone at the doors checking IDs.

JonnydaJibba 2007-01-10 09:47 AM

Joe Bobs. Giant lot, they aren't usually busy. Fried chicken! They have non-chicken items too. There is a lack of lovely rear-ended ladies, but that can be dealt with.

/discussion.

see you guys there thurdsay.

Which Joe Bobs? The only problem I can see is the menu is much smaller than Bully's, so the food would get old pretty fast. Not that I ever go to meets, but I go to Joe Bobs in Sparks fairly often.

JonnydaJibba 2007-01-10 10:10 AM

I was thinking the one at Longley and Virginia. As for the menu thing, that doesn't personally bother me because I get the same thing at every meet.

Wait... does Job Bobs have burgers?

They have burgers, chicken sandwiches, and of course the fried chicken and wings. Just not much of a variety, basic bar food.

MPREZIV 2007-01-10 10:53 AM

I see no problem with eating fried chicken at every meet...

/stereotype

What about moving the meet to Wanda's Watermelon Wonderland? ;) x 100

MPREZIV 2007-01-10 12:21 PM

Only if Wanda serves fried chicken.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-01-10 12:59 PM

I know of another place that might be good. Sierra Gold off of South Meadows is a pretty nice place and they have it divided into sections where they could reserve for a group. Plus the food is way better then bullys/sparkys.

JonnydaJibba 2007-01-10 01:00 PM

Sounds like more scouting is in order.
