WTB: Stock 2002 WRX Exhaust
Hey everyone,
I need to buy or borrow a stock turbo back exhaust that will fit me 2002 wrx to pass smog. Does anyone have a stock exhaust laying around that I can buy or borrow for a few days? Thanks, Scott |
Why do you think you need a stock exhaust to pass smog?
|
I pass smog with no problems, header, up pipe, downpipe, & cat back. You shouldn't need it to pass here in Reno. But I might have a Stock Downpipe laying around I can try and find in my garage if needed.
|
Even in CA you can have an aftermarket CBE. I did have to put the stock DP and midpipe back on to pass here though. They didn't notice the aftermarket UP thankfully.

I have a stock downpipe chillen in my garage if you want to buy it.. $50 and it's yours.

I didn't pass in Colorado before I moved out here. Colorados regulations must be more strict than Nevada. I will give it a shot with my catless turbo back exhaust and see what happens. How about the visual inspection? Will I pass that with my current exhaust?
Thanks for al the help! Scott |
There is no visual inspection other than making sure the check engine light functions in the bulb check. It's a computer test and takes about 3 minutes.. I'm a smog inspector.. Do them every day..

No you need a vin inspection. You need a vin inspection, smog and current Nevada insurance prior to registering in Nevada. There is no visual inspection on 1996 and newer vehicles other than the check engine light.

I bought my car from Washington and there was no visual inspection other than what Andy said.

That is great news! You guys made my day! Can't wait to get her on the road and go to some meets!
Thanks for all of your help! Scott |
