Japanese Characters for IE Browser?

Anyone have the plug-in(s) for IE so I can view Japanese characters? Do these plug-ins display the actual characters(kenji) or does it acually translate?

There is a plugin to display the kanji and kana of japanese text. It comes with IE, although you have to specially install it off the Windows CD (XP for sure, probably 2000 as well. Don't know about 98 or 95).

If you would like the site to be translated into english, try Altavista's babelfish translator service, its pretty decent. But just beware of the inherient limitations of computed translations, it may not make sense at all

My computer can't display anything in Japanese. But it can show me a whole lot of boxes.

I guess I'll have to get a new computer so I can load XP. I am just dying to get over to Yahoo's japanese auction sites.

IIRC you can't order stuff from the US on Yahoo.jp (or eBay, or Amazon, etc.)... you'll need a friend in Japan to bid and buy for you, then ship it to the states. :( But you should be able to browse everything if that's your goal.

I don't mind the boxed on Japanese pages, it's not like I can read is anyway!

Yup, you legally need a Japanese address to bid on any Japanese websites.

They don't allow us foreigners on their websites. :D

Actually you can. Most of the time you'll need an importing broker. They usually charge 10%-20% of the final price, however, they do all the paper work for you. Its a hefty price, but you get some nice JDM tyte shizzle yo.

I was just going to wait until my friend moved to Japan this next summer :P
