Need help getting back in the fold.

Okay, I am trying to find a 95+ Impreza L AWD for under $8k from a dealership with good financing (Im going to need it), if any of you guys have seen a lonely Impreza collecting dust on a lot... LET ME KNOW!!

There's usually a few on eBay. Try a credit union for financing. That's the advice I give because none of the lots around me will have anything more than 3-4 years old on them.

Why a 95+?

96 and newer have OBD2 makes it better for the swap. :D

Good point.

Since getting the car wired again is the hardest part it would be alot harder to convert from ODB1 to ODB2. I have read that conveting the other way like making a car OBD1 that is OBD2 is not as hard. There is no point in doing this all the tuning stuff we like is for OBD2. :D

Thats what I was thinking as well, but financing is going to be one hell of a mess for me, its going to take one hell of a leap of faith from ANYONE to give me the loan, as I have a recent repo and so much debt that its scary.

STIwish 2004-01-30 11:35 AM

I could deal with a newer car, but I havent found any that start under $10k.

I love the first and the last, but the distance and the fact that they are private owner deals kills me because there is no way to finance :(

ZER026D 2004-01-30 09:19 PM

That sucks the best way to swing a deal is to have cash.

STIwish 2004-01-30 10:47 PM

Which is REALLY hard on minimum wage when you're spending as much as you are getting in.

The Brighton was a special model of the Legacy Wagon with AWD and virtually no other optional type accessories, i.e. no power windows, no ABS, no leather, etc. I think the idea was a capable, no frills, affordable wagon. I beleive it was also the lightest of the Legacys.

Would make an awesome starting place :)
