Good rally roads around Reno
 

Does anyone know of any good dirt roads to drive on? Im filming a video for english and we want to do a rally scene. I drive a WRX so the road should be fairly smooth and capable of driving at high-ish speeds (30mph?). If anyone know of any let me know.

There are some fairly forgiving roads off pyramid highway, just where the reservation starts, north of Winnemucca ranch rd.

Oooh, a little late, but the dirt road south of Carson City from Mexican Dam to Johnson Lane behind Hot Spring Mountain is a great one.

Fantasy: when Top Gear or the next iteration contacts me to do a Nevada rally sequence, I'm going to shut down the mine traffic on Lucky Boy Pass road by Hawthorne and film some epic hillclimb tailwagging.

Is that the road to Aurora?

Lucky Boy Pass... Full of win and awesome for a hill climb...! Was last up there in a Duramax while deer hunting, and wishing I had AWD and a much lower center of gravity!

It's the road from Hawthorne to Aurora, yes. It actually is mostly used by mine traffic from Borealis.

From Aurora to Borealis... Make sense.
