I know If I would have been in an accident, and I would have been the one to dish out the cash for all the parts I would have been happy with this list... Thank God Art had the type of cash to cover it ... I ofcourse DONT.. LOL

What Year? Wagon or sedan?

I would like the struts if they are from a wagon.

Do you happen to have the stock wrx front brake pads? If so, how many miles on them?

ryan4601 2004-02-09 02:17 PM

all the stock parts are from an 04 wrx sedan. dont really know if the struts will fit on a wagon...but they might. ive got the pads from the fronts...i think they have about 6000 miles on them.

My front pads are about done for, so let me know what you want for your pads. I just need front I think.

I got an extra set of Axxis Ultimates... I accidentally ordered one extra front set instead of a rear set. I'll sell 'em to ya for $40 (save ya about $10) if you're willing to put up with the extra dust they generate.

HHmmm....I have the gunmetal rims on now anyway, so I don't think I would notice the dust...

I'l let you know scott.

Are the Axxis pads pretty streetable or...?

ArthurS 2004-02-09 04:48 PM

I heard they are minus the brake-dust. Same ones as Evan's got on his car. I was actually gunning for Carbo-tech, but have limited the amount of money I am actually going to invest into this car if I trade it in for {Who the hell knows what yet}.

I've found the Axxis Ultimates to be a great compromise between street and AutoX... the grip well when cold, and yet can handle some pretty high temps (repeated 60-0 stops don't really faze 'em), plus they're very quiet. The drawback is that they dust like a madman, and it's some evil red dust, and they can't hang with the 80-0 repeated stops as I found out at Fernely yesterday). But the dust is really the only drawback if you only use them for street/AutoX.

Coolness, unless you have white rims :)

You should see the black strip on the inside of my clean white rims after a single day of driving on the street. Looks like someone used a can of spray paint to stripe the rim. But, since I waxed the rims when they were new, that dust comes off with a little simple green and water w/ hardly any work.

hey guys,

it's Steve from Portland and www.pdxwrx.com

struts are interchangeable (as I have '04 STi struts on a '03 wagon), just if you want aftermarket springs you need my '02/'03 tophats, my '04 springs are taperd

The rear wagon struts are different that the sedan rears. The sedan will fit. This is what I understand from looking at the aftermarket struts like the AGX units.

Scott, I am going to be hitting 30k here fairly soon (about 3 weeks), so I will need new front brake pads then. Could I pick those up from you in like 2 weeks?

Have you checked the wear on the pads yourself or are you just going by mileage?

Yup.

After I hit the curb, when I took off the rim, I checked and noticed how low they are. The service guy also noticed and mentioned it to me.
