End of Winter BBQ/ Meet...Sunday Feb 29

Okay, so maybe the "End of Winter" tag is a bit of wishful thinking, but lets get the whole crew together this weekend for a BBQ, and perhaps some beers, videos and go karts

In addition, we have a lot of server costs coming due soon, and to be honest, sweatshirt and sticker sales have helped, but we are still in need of some donation. So, I'll provide the food, and place to party, and you guys can donate whatever you feel comfortable with to help the club with our server costs. $20 would be great, but I know different people value the site in different ways, so any donation amount will be appreciated. Sound Good?

Plan on Sunday Afternoon NOON
Location: Matt's House
BBQ Burgers and food, Bring beer if you want.
PM me if you need directions

Also, please reply if you can make it, or if you would prefer we reschedule, but this should be a good weekend for such an event.

Thanks guys
Matt

Art, do you wanna rally the guys who don't always visit the board, and let us know who's coming?

this is SO fucking happening.

Nick Koan 2004-02-23 08:22 PM

Ooh, I might try and make it up. Kinda early for me to decide, a lot is happening right now, but I'd like to make it.

I'll see if some Sac guys are willing to come up too :D

EDIT: Opps, just realized that it might be hard to convince them to come up on a Saturday. People have tried many times to move or reschedule the meet, and it never has worked.

After the BBQ we're thinking about making a run to the Hilton for the slick track. (The karts are open, right?)

dknv 2004-02-24 09:11 AM

I'd like to try those nascar replica racers sometime ...

Hop in a half-scale NASCAR replica racer and take 30-mph turns around a 400-foot oval racetrack.
30mph! Ha! That's unlikely.... plus those things are like 1/4 scale. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't fit in 'em.

Just come with us the next time we go and do these "NASCAR replica racers":

Oh c'mon, you guys can move the meet just once right? Slick track man! ;)

'Course at a Sunday lunch BBQ we'd have NASCAR to watch!

dknv 2004-02-24 09:50 AM

No Nascar this weekend, right?

Holy crap! I thought Vegas was this weekend... I guess those guys are just too lazy to race 3 weekends in a row.

But if you move it to Sunday, some of us get twice the meetage and twice the karting. ;) And we really really really are trying to avoid setting precedent for canceling/moving meets. That always results in death for that meet. So far we've been successful.

I'm not opposed unless it means that local SECCS members can't make it... what's everyone else think?

ArthurS 2004-02-24 11:37 AM

I am fine with it. Up to everyone else.

MattR 2004-02-24 11:07 PM

The weather is going to be pretty shitty, according to the weatherman. Does this matter? Go Karts may not happen, but we can still BBQ
