CornerCarvers.com

So this morning, on a lark I decided to go see if I could register there. And lo and behold, I could- got me a user name, activated it through email, filled out my profile... but the forums are locked. Only they aren't, because people are posting. So am I locked from posting because I am a n00b, or did I actually screw something up in activiation? I suppose I could try to just start over with a different membername/email addy, but that's kinda not cool knowing I'd be making a name I wouldn't use. Suggestions?

Bah, nevermind- I cleared cookies, waited a while, logged in, and presto- I can post. At least I managed to discover the fact that CC is taking new mebers- so GO REGISTER NOW if you autocross and haven't already done so. :D

I probably won't post a damn thing myself until I've at least won my class in autocross. :P What's your excuse Scott?

Isn't Austin acting as your 'sponsor' to keep you from being tossed to the Mustang lions? As it is, I figure the stuff I'll be asking about or giving answers to won't be of much interest to them, as long as I avoid noobish stuff like asking old questions.

Austin's my "sponsor" as far as him telling me: "Dude, corner-carvers is accepting registrations! You should sign up... just don't post anything because those guys will eat you alive".

It's pretty simple to stay alive on Corner Carvers; read the newbie (wiki) guide and follow the rules outlined there, and you'll be fine. If you don't, the moderators will probably give you a good roasting before promptly banning you. It was founded by some guys mostly from Corral.net (Mustang site) but has grown beyond that; there are people there with all kinds of cars. The general discussion forum is a good way to ease into membership there if you've got a decent head about your shoulders, which pretty much everybody from SECCS does. :D If you need to post tech questions, just make damn sure you do thorough research and don't ask a Q that's been answered before.

I keep forgetting about this site until I read Pulp Racing every once a year or so...

Th "Official Rules for ALL who post on Corner-Carvers. Read them, learn them, love them." article is quite humorous as are teh newbie guides.

I love "topics that may get you banned immediately" #2...

"Topics devoted to drifting. We know it exists. We understand what it is. We have already made up our minds on the issue, and nobody will change them - no matter how many videos you post. There's an infinite number of places to discuss the pros and cons of the subject. Consider this infinity minus one."

Off to post a question about what I should to to my Stang to make it drift better with a long ass Sig and a John Cleese crotch shot?

Hence my current postcount there of 1, which consists of a test post in the n00b forum. :P It will be quite some time before I try to contribute, but I can definitely stand to learn a lot quickly.
