I was starting to think the server was borked up until right before I logged on, explaining the lack of traffic. :P

I've been gone...but I am back now.
|
I got pulled over for that by Sparks PD a couple months back in my previous vehicle... Gave me a $50 fine or some bullshit
|
NHP guy. Just as you would turn right on Pyrimid to go to Reno, 0.75 miles from my house, I even told him that I would go home and put it on but he said he had to give me the ticket just like he would anyone else b/s. I counted atleast 100 or more cars and trucks with no front plates on that raod with only 2 trips I had to make today.
|
Its the STi.. its a shiny new sports car with some punk driving it... perfect target for the end-of-the-month quota thing... (hope no one here works at the PD.. if so, remember I do not drive a black STi)
|
it just sucks when you have 7 RPD look at the cars and they dont say a thing take all my information then 2 days later I get a little (suposed) ticket. the old "dont worry the judge will hear you out" speach and the "I'm just doing my job" dribble.........
thier job is to quote - Colonel David S. Hosmer, Chief :"The mission of the Nevada Highway Patrol is to enforce the traffic laws of the State, investigate traffic collisions, enforce and regulate motor carriers transporting cargo and hazardous materials, maintain Nevada’s central Criminal History Repository and operate the statewide message switcher to process criminal justice information. Despite manpower shortages, our Troopers continue to work harder to ensure that our mission is carried out." its funny how the word "Traffic Laws" which is CHAPTER 484 TRAFFIC LAWS GENERAL PROVISIONS what was I cited for then you ask? CHAPTER 482 MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAILERS: LICENSING, REGISTRATION, SALES AND LEASES GENERAL PROVISIONS to be exact its section NRS 482.275 License plates: Display. 1. The license plates for a motor vehicle other than a motorcycle, power cycle or motor vehicle being transported by a licensed vehicle transporter must be attached thereto, one in the front and the other in the rear. The license plate issued for all other vehicles required to be registered must be attached to the rear of the vehicle. The license plates must be so displayed during the current calendar year or registration period. 2. Every license plate must at all times be securely fastened to the vehicle to which it is assigned so as to prevent the plate from swinging and at a height not less than 12 inches from the ground, measuring from the bottom of such plate, in a place and position to be clearly visible, and must be maintained free from foreign materials and in a condition to be clearly legible. 3. Any license plate which is issued to a vehicle transporter or a dealer, rebuilder or manufacturer may be attached to a vehicle owned or controlled by that person by a secure means. No license plate may be displayed loosely in the window or by any other unsecured method in any motor vehicle. [13:202:1931; 1931 NCL § 4435.12]—(NRS A 1959, 863; 1963, 1127; 1969, 686; 1983, 1000; 1987, 2079) so I guess the real question is : is it right for a highway patrol officer to pull me over just for that reason alone? I didn't break a "traffic law"? :?: maybe i'm reaching but it just sucks because while it might be a quota thing for them its a sacrifice for me, and there is a box they can check that says warning  |
I use to get that front plate ticket once a year when I use to hang out at Edison (old school drag strip) 10 years ago. When the cop came everybody take off and the cop always stop and ticket the car without front plate.
If you go the the traffic court take a picture of your car with the front plate install. They usually reduce the ticket to just the paper work fee. That what they use to do I not sure about now. One time the judge even send the cop come down with me to see the car. That time I pay $15 paperwork fee. Goodluck |
if u really wanna fight the ticket, see a judge. If u just wanna pay the minimal fine, put the plate on the front, go to the clerk and tell him/her that u have it on now. The clerk might wanna see it and might not, but either way u should be able to reduce that fine down to like 15 bucks or 50, its one of those. Pay it and u r in the clear.
yeah its a traffic violation from what i understand it, but most cops dont enforce it unless its quota time=( |

BTW: The E36 M3's aren't in STX, it's the older 4-cylinder E30 M3 and the 328i that are in STX. Not that you can't put all the E36 M3 suspension parts on a E36 328i and get the motor up to about 250hp... but technically it's still not an E36 M3. 'Course that's no excuse... I just need to drive faster. |
