Want? yes Afford? no Why aren't you using it?

Kevin M 2004-05-12 05:08 PM

Because I need the moneys. The only other option I have would be to trade down my RS for an older Subaru, and that would basically take too long.

I want, but it would throw me right back in SM which I am trying to avoid.

Yeah, but now you'd be in SM in a lighter, more powerful car with a MUCH better gearbox.

must ... resist ... urge ... to ditch ... crappy wrx gearbox ... :P

On a semi serious note, what do you think it would cost to have this installed by someone? Are there any other bits needed to put this in a WRX? With some half arsed quick research I found the rallispec site which lists a lot of other parts needed to do the conversion, are they all in there?

I would love to have a gearbox that would allow me to do a lot more with my engine, but 6k is getting up the the area where I start thinking about selling my car for a used STi ... not to mention all the other areas of the car that need money thrown at them to bring them up to STi level ... hmmm ...

Do it! You're already in Street Mod! Do It!

tysonK 2004-05-13 04:24 PM

Of course you would have WRX with a 6-Speed and as far as I'm concerned that is cooler than ANY STi. There is something to be said about being different!!1!1
