Cheapest source for OEM Subaru parts?

So, where is the cheapest includig shipping place on-line, local or by phone to get replacement OEM Subaru parts like fender liners etc.?

I got some stuff from:

Allsubaru.com

Its SubieGal's shop 8) A lot of stuff isn't listed, so just email her and she can give the price and part number (unless you already have the part number)

Thats who I went through for the new A-Pillar

I second a call to Jamie, she rocks.... although you'll hear different opinions about her ability to moderate on NASIOC.

Another spot is www.subaruparts.com They've got decent prices, but the big bonus is their website that allows you to explore parts diagrams to figure out what parts you need in the event that you're not sure what's what.

MattR 2004-06-14 03:51 PM

You know, Independent Auto here in town said they would order parts since they are a Subaru service center, I wonder if that's worth checking out...

Other than that, I'd go to Subiegal...

LetItRev 2004-06-14 04:30 PM

Another to try is www.subaruwrxparts.com

Jamie is a nice gal but allsubaru.com is overpriced. They also ho'd me around with my wheel. Brian (of http://www.ravensblade-impreza.com/ fame) at subaruwrxparts.com is the best to buy from IMHO, he knows his shit, has great prices, and some of the best service I've ever had.

Yeah, I know plenty of people (in real life, not just retards on nasioc) that would never buy anything from her. Personally, I thought she was nice enough when I met her at Rim a few years ago, but the horror stories are too much for me to ignore.

Besides, if I ever wanted an (used) OEM part, I'd ask Aaron to keep an eye out next time he was at the recycler yard :) Quality and availablilty might not be consistant, but it'd probably do for whatever I needed.

Other then that, I'd say Subaruparts.com is a great idea. I've never heard a bad thing about them. And if you want the phat JDM godness, you can always try japanparts.com ;)

JC 2004-06-14 05:46 PM

You must not have listened much, I've heard plenty of bad things about subaruparts.com. Nothing real recently though. I'm one of those people who won't buy from Jamie anymore FYI. Like I said stick to subaruwrxparts.com.

Nick Koan 2004-06-14 05:58 PM

Yeah, I've never dealt with subaruparts.com directly, but everytime the topic comes up, everyone on nasioc and i-club seem to shout in unison, "SUBARUPARTS.COM"

I figured there was some sort of negative feedback for them, I just hadn't heard any.

Kostamojen 2004-06-14 08:57 PM

There is negative feadback for subaruparts.com, mostly that they take a little time. Its the best site to browse though by far.
Allsubaru.com is great too, and yes there are people who have issues with Jamie (why, I dont know, alot have to do with people who get regulated on in NASIOC then complain about it :p )
And Ravensblade/Brian at subaruwrxparts.com is also really good.

What I suggest, is price shopping all three :) Thats what I do.

Kevin M 2004-06-14 09:22 PM

I personally go straight to subaruwrxparts.com. I have yet to see a parts question that Brian can't and won't answer. That's also where I got my original 4 pots at. They were the only dealer I could find with the full kit in stock ready to ship.

As for Jamie, we dislike her because she is egostical, hypocritical, and sometimes just plain rude.

I was about to say the same thing about subaruparts.com.

I'll tell you my story with Jamie. I'll bought 3 P7s for my car and needed a fourth. Having met Jamie and spoken with her online quite a few times, I decided to order from her. Now the wheels on my car were sold w/ bald snow tires that badly need to be replaced (it was still winter mind you). So I order online and shoot a PM to Jamie explaining the situation. She told me no problem. Right on time my nice shiny new 18" P1 arrives. Oops. I called her and explained the problem and that I was in a bit of a time crunch. She said not to worry it happens quite a bit (!!!!) since they have a new shipping guy. I asked her if they could send the P7 right away since I need it (they have my credit card mind you, not like I can screw them here). Of course the answer was no (from Jamie's boss, she's just a parts clerk FYI). Well what about after UPS has confirmed they picked up the wheel? NOPE Gotta wait til they got it back. BUT they didn't make me pay for the extra shipping. Well hot damn thanks. I'm glad I had to rearrange a trip to Ohio and someone coming from Chicago AND drive in a snow storm in the ~2weeks it took me to get the right wheel. I have nothing against Jamie, but allsubaru sucks AND their prices are high. I have no doubt at all that subaruwrxparts would have been more accomidating.

My prefered vendors...
subaruwrxparts.com
sugar (subaru of Gwinnett) <--- give her a try too Dean

Like I said, there are plenty of people that have a problem w/ Jamie... but I've had nothing but good luck... I ordered some interior parts through her and had no issues... her prices were cheaper than local dealers, and she was the only one that had the stuff I needed in stock.

JC 2004-06-15 08:40 AM

Let me clarify. I have NO problem with Jamie. She's a bit of an airhead but she's always been nice to me. Carter Subaru (allsubaru.com) on the other hand I don't like. Jamie is just a parts clerk there (unless she got promoted). I highly doubt she makes policy decisions or sets prices. Both of which I think Carter needs help on.

Yet more further additional position clarification. I haven't had any experiences buying from Jamie, but I never will after what she did to Eric (SisqoCQK). He didn't get what he ordered from her, and she jerked him around about it for months. When he finally complained about it publically, she used her influence as a moderator to delete several threads about the matter. Because of that, I refuse to suppport anything she does and will tell anybody who asks the same. The Subaru aftermarket community is too small for people to get away with shit like that.

Dean 2004-06-16 09:24 PM

OK, here are the results...

Subaruparts.com: Best web site, best raw prices(about 24% off), only 2 small parts(fasteners) in stock, longest lead time for those out of stock, probably lowest shipping, longest ship times by ground. If I wanted to wait, or a big $ item, I'd probably try them.

subaruwrxparts.com Mostly useless web site for OEM parts. Filled out parts request with part numbers from the parts diagram on Subaruparts.com. They couldn't figure out what I wanted from those part numbers despite their ability to tell me that I probably got them off the parts diagram from Subaruparts.com. I then described them... The front fender liners, and all plastic fasteners for them and the air ducts that hook to them in the front for an 02 WRX sedan.... No response so far...

allsubaru.com/Subie Gal/ Jamie: Also mostly useless web site for OEM parts. Filled out parts request with part numbers from the parts diagram on Subaruparts.com. Got an email response in a couple business hours with all pricing(about 20% off), and estimated shipping. All parts except a couple of the fasteners in stock for same day shipping. Responded to additional email enquires in under 1/2 an hour each, answered the phone imediately, handled ordering quickly. Processed order and provided tracking number by email same day. Should be here in 2 days, AKA Friday.

I think every company is going to ahve some horror story, and some raving review. So far I'm pretty impressed with AllSubaru.com

Just FYI: The numbers on the subaruparts.com diagrams are their own internal numbers, but if you add them to your shopping cart, the items will display their Subaru part numbers that you can use to describe parts to other people/dealers/etc.

They look like the diagrams could be from a Subaru parts identifier "Microfiche", but I could be wrong. I did notice today that they translated into part numbers when you added them to your cart. Still, Jamie didn't have an issue figuring out what I wanted...

I really appreciate everyone's input...

WRXRallyBlue 2004-06-25 07:04 PM

If anyone needs OEM parts I can get them for you at a relatively cheap price of 10% over cost, so feel free to PM me. Got a job at Lithia Subaru :D
