Grounding Kits
I should have asked you guys at the meet, but I was wondering what gauge your grounding kits were? Specificly the grounds to the head and intake manifold. And when you guys usually ground your car with these kits, what do you ground?
Thanks -Sp00ln |
The short answer is whatever your kit came with... I have a kit lying around that is 10 guage, but I beleive I have seen 12,8,4, and possibly as low/large as 2. Last I knew, there was no imperical evidence that any of these does anything, much less what size wire to use, so it is a crap shoot.
That said, if you are going to do it, solder the ends, and make the lengths as short as possible of whatever size wire you use... This kit goes to two places on the intake, one on the intercooler, and the right strut tower. The theory is to get the grounds as close to critical sensors as possible I guess. I'm sure others go elsewhere... Sorry, no perfect answers from me at least... |

Dean was right, closer to vital sensors. Depending on where you hook what up to it can effect different parts of the car. One way can make your headlights brigher. Another can make your car a bit faster. Or you can set it up to make your "system" get more juice, in turn "hitting harder". I forget which positions do what but I'm sure you can find out.
Ryan- Im not sure re-wiring everything is going to benefit the over all performance of your 2g. I know it works on our fuel pumps but I would read up on re-wiring anything else. |
I have the Lineage kit.........4 guage wire looked real nice when I first got it but now is changing colors as the heat fades it :?
