National Solo II Championships, Topeka, 9/14-9/17
 

Tonight I got my latest issue of Sportscar, which has an article about 'Who Will Win' (Solo II National Championships). It's pretty funny that they note that Patty Evans may be a contender in D-Stock Ladies (even though Patty hasn't run in DSL all year).

I've already been obsessed about going again, and I think this article clenched it for me. I just don't know what I'll drive yet (have offers to drive Dave Deborde's AP car as well as the Hollis' Honda Civic in STS).

Competition dates are Sept. 14 - 17. Anybody else interested in going to watch, or compete? In STX, there are already 27 competitors entered, including the infamous KC and Tom Hoppe. I can attest that last year was a blast, and I didn't even know what I was doing. This year I will be more 'in-the-know' about how it all works, and where some of the fun parties are.

As much as I'd love, love, love to go, I don't think I'm going to make it. Topeka is sooo far away, and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to drive the "kidney-punisher" that far. Plus getting all that time off of work... and the cost of going is getting to be pretty unrealistic.

Next year... I will probably try and make every Solo II and Pro Solo National tour event I can next year, and then head to Nationals for Solo II, Pro Solo, and practice...

Hopefully they actually get the site repaved by then.

OK, I changed my mind... The car is completely set up. Who knows what kick ass car will be in STX next year. I'm not getting any younger.

I'm going... And Debbie is going to drive the car in STXL.

Of course I waited one day to long and had to pay the late fee...

Anybody want to co-drive with Debbie or I?

Ugh... I really want to go with you guys, but I think it's just too far away, too expensive, and too much time off work. :(

I would love to go, but I have no time left to take off from work, as I'm going to New Zealand in October. The timing is not right for me. I'm really glad you guys are going...
