ScottyS's WTB list (upgrading MY98 Wagon)

Yeah, I know. The Tech Forum Thread is taking up enough space. However, since I'm at it, I figured a WTB thread might not be a bad thing (I listed this on the I-Club forum as well). For those of you that are wondering what the heck I'm blabbing about, but for some unearthly reason are still curious about a non-STi project, refer to this: http://www.seccs.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1717

OK, here's the deal: I'm looking for upgrades to my MY98 Impreza L Wagon, and not trying to get the *highest-performance*, just the most cost-effective. Thus, take-off items dominate the list. Since I'm following a budget, and not building a race car, I'm looking for decent deals, not retail prices...so if you have this stuff hanging around your garage collecting dust or are thinking of upgrading your WRX or RS, here is your solution!

Please reply via email --- pictures will be handy.

Current WTB list: (edited 8-15-04)

Headlights --- MY99-01 GC-type Headlights (the factory clear ones).
Tires --- Takeoff stock 16" 92's would be perfect, must be low-mileage.
Seats --- Takeoff WRX-like RS seats (black-black) or the newer WRX seats (black-black).
Brakes --- Takeoff WRX front brakes (bracket, calipers, rotors).
Other --- RS or OBS hood would be nice, or the rear hatch spoiler, but I really don't expect folks to have those hanging around.
Wheels --- Got-em! Thanks Clive from SJ!
Sway Bar --- Got it! Thanks Sherm from Oakland!

Thanks for looking, have a great day!

Call the Subaru recycler in Rancho Cordova about the headlights and hood. they won't have the hood for sure, but they'll keep your name on file and call you if they get one. You can also get a brand new one unpainted for about $250. You'll need vents and a scoop though. Sperry will be upgrading his brakes sometime between now and the first event next season, so if you call dibs on them I'm sure he'll give you first shot at them.

Check on the recycler in RC. *edit* Wow. They are pretty proud of their parts, for being "recycled".

Didn't Scott say that he was keeping all his stock stuff "just in case" he buckles for an Sti?

That's pretty much my situation. Either I'll revert my car to stock, sell it and get an STi, or swap in a shortblock, turbo, and tranny, in which case I'm admitting that I'm keeping it for the long haul and I'll sell off all my stock parts.

I've got REX calipers (same as an RS) and brackets around here somewhere I think. No rotors though.

Ah well, rotors are cheap, no?

Shouldn't be too expensive.

You should get these Ver. 2 seats. Maybe you can get only the fronts....
