Lovelock: adventures, recap, pictures

Well I think everyone had a lot of good times in teh Lovelock. The course was laid out n the triagnle on runway and taxi way we have there. If you have been there before you will understand that. Anyways times were in the 39-49 sec range roughly for both days. Needless to say run-groups went by quickly. In fact on saturday time was plentiful to get back after teh event in time to have the banquet.

Sunday Dean was was very fast and results to come shortly to see just how fast. Scott was also blazing with the ESX $25,000(into it) sponsored car! I swear watching him and Dean it's like they built this course for them. Dean even had raw time advantage in ASP for a bit!

I found that the break I took from Autocross really hurt me my first couple of runs but I was able to recoup by the end of the 6 runs which we had both days. With some solid advice from Matt, thanks dude!

We also happened to come upon a loaded car trailer chaulk full of pretty new C6 vettes!

Being back in a well-setup Subaru was xcellent!!! Thanks to Dean ...

I heard a couple of trains go by today that blew their horns. The one this morning, Scott thought was Amtrack, but what about the one later in the morning? (Maybe Eric?)

Debbie won Ladies PAX both days... :disco:

And, you are welcome...

Someone here at work just got his. Red C6... parked in the lot yesterday afternoon. I wonder if it was one of the ones on the truck in Lovelock!?

ArthurS 2004-09-09 08:51 AM

 Those cars are amazing. Wasn't chevy supposed to produce 2 more powerful versions of the C6 also? Like the Blue and Red Devil or something?

ArthurS 2004-09-09 08:57 AM

Found it:

Apparently it is called 'Blue Devil' and will be in production soon say the Z06 board. Here is a quote from Autoweek awhile ago:

Quote:

600-hp, 7.0-liter V8-powered Blue Devil, despite information obtained by AutoWeek pointing to a 2006 production debut of the $100,000 sports car.

Well, the base C6 has the same performance numbers as the C5 Z-06. Next years Z-06 should have like 500hp and be a Viper killer.

But will it compete with the $105,000 Ford GT?

It certainly doesn't look as cool.

/me has giant wood for the GT-40. Best Ford evAr... at least in the original was. I still haven't seen the new one in person... or an RS200 in person either.
