I can now kill myself easier and faster...
I passed my motorcycle rider's safety class today. Might I add I tied for the worst score in the class on the riding test. :D

what!
:liljon: |
hey somebody else was using that sig earlier this year.

Nice work JC!
When I took it, there were only 3 of us (out of like 15 people) that passed. I'm not sure what was so hard, but only the 3 of us passed the riding test and went on to take the written test which was cake. I know one of my friends who rode just fine all weekend over did it in the swerve test (was going too fast), and high sided because he thought he had to hit the brakes during the swerve to stop before the curb. Perfect riding for 2 days, then one biff and he was done. :( The rest of the failures were pretty much warranted... lots of people out there that shouldn't be on the road. What mistakes did you make on your test? All I can say is that I wish regular driver's licenses required half as much work to get. I swear, all you need to get a car license is one eye, one foot, and two fingers on one hand. Car control skill and congitive ability optional. It's those retards out there in cages, that pretty much mean I'll never ride anywhere but a trail or a track. |
We had one girl who didn't make it past the first day of riding. Everyone else in my class passed pretty easily. I got 11 points and you can get up to 21 without failing.
The slow speed u-turns I couldn't make within the box. I locked the rear wheel on the braking and took one of the turns a little too slow. Nothing too bad, I just need to practice slow speed manevuers when I get a bike. |

I was under the impression neither of you had any trouble with box.

Why the hell did you guys take a course? Why didn't you just go to the DMV and take the test? It takes like 5 minutes.

That's tight tho... now I know someone in town that could *potentially* ride. |
motercycle safty course is a very very good Idea if your planning on getting a bike...do they still do the figure 8? man I loved that one.

I assume the 1,200 means 1,200cc bike. Thats a big bike for me. I will be looking for a 600.

I have been looking at the CBR 600RR and CBR F4i.
But then again, I might also be looking for a old beat-up bike to use for a year to make sure I am confident in my skills before getting a 8,000$ bike. |

Hence my second statement. I might look for a crappy ol ninja to ride on for awhile till I pick it up.
Winter is rolling in anyway, doubt I'll pick up a bike till after. |

So all you guys newly licensed to kill (yourselves), I'm selling my bike! It's a great bike and fun to ride, but now that I've moved into a new house my financial priorities have changed.
The bike is a 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200S. Only 2975 miles and an extended warranty until May '05. It's basically brand new! It's considered a sport touring bike, so it's not quite as fast as the crotch rockets, but it definately moves, and it is comfotable for longer rides. There is a great write-up on it at this website: http://www.motorcycle.com/mo/mcsuz/01b12.html Here's some pictures of it too: http://www.seccs.org/members/mwilson...bike/bike1.jpg http://www.seccs.org/members/mwilson...bike/bike2.jpg http://www.seccs.org/members/mwilson...bike/bike3.jpg http://www.seccs.org/members/mwilson...bike/bike4.jpg If you're interested, shoot me a PM or call me on my cell @ 762-6024. -Matt |
