Shhhh. It's classified...

Debbie and I walked through while they were setting up yesterday. I certianly attracts a diverse group... Some are even nice to look at, and that is a good thing.

And, if you are into leather, you will fit right in... I don't think you will find a larger selection of leather jackets for under a$100 bucks much of anywhere...

I think Debbie mentioned that she heard it is now one of the top 6 Motercycle meets in the US. Sturgis, and Daytona are obviously bigger, but I couldn't think of any others... Probably something in So-Cal, and detroit I bet, and maybe Texas.

That guy's getting some big air! *you guys see the dirtbike right?*

sybir 2004-09-23 09:23 AM

Yeah, he's up there :D

Its a cool pose, but the stuff in the background makes you miss the biker catching air. It was really funny watching the mothers in the office view the jumping they were all gasping.

I should ride the Harley out to Reno. :P

They have a jump set up at the Harley shop here in Carson. I was pulling some money out of the ATM while they were jumping. It was pretty cool.

Next weekend will be even better: AMA Supermoto takes to Reno streets

Quote:

The 15-turn, .85-mile course is located just south of Harrah’s Reno, the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino, the El Dorado Hotel and Casino, and Circus Circus, four prominent Reno casinos. The course will cross over the Truckee River twice and riders will approach speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour on the course’s two long straight-aways.

What kind of bikes are going to run that event...dirt and pavement?

On the radio they said it was supposed to be a blend of both. Your guess is as good as mine...

Dean 2004-09-25 07:22 AM

This sounds like the same stuff they ran at X-Games. Dirt bikes with short fat slicks that work on both the street and dirt...

Cool stuff. Definitely worth going if you are not going to Solo Trials

Maybe we should split this out to a new thread...

sybir 2004-09-25 07:35 AM

Supermotards, yup. Think of streetbike tires witha little bit of tread, and you're there; you can still jump the things, slide them around corners, etc.

If I wasn't such a chickenshit about bikes these days, I'd be riding one, as they're a lot more flexibe than a streetbike.
