ProSolo in NW Region

Hopefully those of you on the renoscca yahoo groups list got the email from Jeff Winchell today. His email is lobbying for input to scca, to bring a prosolo event to the northwest region, probably in Seattle. (There is a Wendover event in July I think, but Seattle would be a very cool venue.)

When Dean and I participated in the ProSolo at Topeka, before the National Championships - well, I think that may have been the most fun (although to qualify my statement, we weren't competing so the pressure was off) I had the whole time I was there. It is a drag strip start, you place your car at a start line, then wait for a light bar countdown to launch. It is an exciting variation to autocross, across a 2-day format.

ProSolo is on my "Highly Recommended" list of motorsports events. Please 'vote' if it sounds interesting to you.

I second Debbie's endorsement. ProSolo > Solo2

6 runs on 2 "mirror" courses in 2 days = minimum of 12 runs and a chance for more if you make it to the runoffs for the $$$s.

A little hard on clutches, like a drag race, but I think I launch at normal autocrosses pretty hard at times.

I'd really like to do one of these in Reno if I can figure out how to time it.

It's a cool idea, but I'm gonna be hard pressed to drive to Seattle for one. I'd rather save my long weekends of driving for trips to places like Buttonwillow, Pahrump, or Laguna Seca.

Bingo. I'm not willing to drive an entire day to autocross... I dunno how often I'd drive a whole day for open track time. But ProSolo would be awesome to have around here, I hope it happens.
