Damn...Busy today.

I go to one 3 hour staff meeting and come back to like 55 new posts!!! Now I'm gonna spend the next 30 minutes catching up...staff meeetings are counter-productive
discuss.

MikeSTI 2004-12-06 01:37 PM

hahahaha

I think you will catch up quick........

.........are we there yet?

sti deede 2004-12-06 01:42 PM

We got scolded in our staff meeting today, for not sharing personnel.

I like the board busy, gives me something to do in the day, besides work. :D

LetItRev 2004-12-06 01:42 PM

Work is indeed an interruption in my Seccs.org reading. I need to get lots of office work done but I have my priorities!!!

sti deede 2004-12-06 03:17 PM

....now it's not so busy. :(

Man, if you think staff meetings are counter-productive the the private sector, try a staff meeting in a place that doesn't need to make a profit (such as an academic/research department). Jeez.
Half the people don't show 'cause they're "not in", it takes 30min just to figure out the politics of "who's running the meeting", every topic includes rabbit trails like "oh, while we're on the subject of website design, I've been meaning to talk to you about redeveloping our GIS curriculum for next semester", plus most of the time is spent trying to unravel the ramblings of the self-appointed administrators who don't carry any technical expertise but felt the need to say something anyway.

Me too. Although I've been playing with a really cool rendering program. Here's what I worked on today.

sti deede 2004-12-06 04:14 PM

Wow! Nick that is really cool. How long did it take you to do that? Have you had a chance to play with sketch-up yet?

Thanks. That was on sketch-up 4.0. It took me a total of about 8 hours. I'm still getting used to the program. I should be able to get the time down on the next one. We're going to photo chop it into the site this week.
This is a very fun program and fairly easy once you get used to it.

That beats the hell out of the AccuRender/3DS stuff I did for my designs in high school!

I haven't had the opportunity to use that program yet, but I here really good things about it. I'd really like to try it out, but I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy yet. Hopefully in the near future I'll get a chance to use it.

Nice design Nick! I'd like that house, placed on the lake, on the east shore. Maybe near the Villa.
