OMFG.. nuts...

http://www.dyno4mance.com/tuning/you...mitsubishi.php

watch the 2nd one dowd (500hp red evo) and the 428hp and 401 hp white evo (near the bottom)... they are just.... insane 8)

tysonK 2005-02-01 08:49 PM

these are just videos of Dyno Pulls?

I'll admit while I'm not blown away by the entertainment value of these videos, I really like those cars, numbers are crazy. friggin A.

tysonK 2005-02-01 08:51 PM

you are putting down around 270 to the wheels Mike?

Evo Mike 2005-02-01 08:55 PM

yep.. like 271 i think was my highest whp pull... that's like friggin weak compared to those 3 cars...

tysonK 2005-02-01 09:33 PM

Well I hope you powerband is a little beter than those guys.

Some of them only have the hardcore over 300 stuff between 6100-7100rpm. Below 5600prm those cars are pretty weak.

qksubi 2005-02-01 11:35 PM

Mike Dont turn your car into a DYNO QUEEN autox that Bitch  :P
WTF are those guys plan on doing with that much power there is such a thing as too much  its kinda cool that they can get 500 to the wheels from a four banger but come on :!: Im a hater dont listen to me :P

You only have too much power when you can lay rubber all the way from the exit of one corner to the entrance of another.

Done and Done...What next?

I have to say, 500 at the wheels is pretty impressive, but I'd hate to have to drive an EVO with a 10 speed in it just to be able to keep my rpms in the 6500 to 7000 range...

[img:a2e62987a9=500]http://www.dyno4mance.com/wc_images/Mitsubishi_Evo_2.jpg_big.jpg[/img:a2e62987a9]

sperry 2005-02-02 09:35 AM

Compare that EVO to this STi:

[img:225fac906d=500]http://www.ktrperformance.com/services/Dyno_Graphs/Subaru/graph_04_STI_11_05_04.gif[/img:225fac906d]

I tell you the one I'd rather drive... it's the one that makes power from 4500 rpm to 7000 rpm, and has a mean torque curve to match.

Evo Mike 2005-02-02 10:06 AM

can't over come the 2.5L i suppose... I guess i'll sacrafice the extra lag and power in the power band for the kick i'm gonna get when my boost gauge is pegged at 30psi  8)

I'm not implying that EVO's can't match the STi's 2.5L... I'm just saying that a 500awhp EVO with a graph like that guy's is gonna get eaten alive on the track by a car that's got torque and a flatter power curve. Essentially, that EVO is good at one thing: putting down a huge peak power number on a dyno.

It's like being a sumo wrestler... sure those guys are impressive atheletes, but their skill is so specialized, it's not like they could play a soccer match, some tennis, and swim a mile, the way most other atheletes could. They'd get beat in any sport outside of the sumo ring.

-HKS turbo kit, HKS T51R SPL, HKS 100mm intake, HKS Fuel rail, 1600cc injectors, HKS fuel pump, HKS intercooler, ATS Triple Carbon clutch, AEM management system, 5" exhaust, Tomei 2.3 engine kit, Tomei Procam cams, Tomei headgasket, Tomei springs, NOS spoolup kit, Custom 80mm intercooler pipes, JUN intake manifold-

5" exhaust

Evo Mike 2005-02-02 11:05 AM

omfg.. thats like 600 torq at like 5000 rpm's! 5" exhaust = bad gas mileage..
