PDX Tuning is putting out some good results right now.

They are the ones getting ~260whp on a LGT with exhaust + tuning.

MattR 2005-02-03 02:25 PM

Are they in Portland, OR?

Kevin M 2005-02-03 02:37 PM

Yep.

PDX is developing a very good rep lately. When Jeff first started tuning I was a bit skeptical, like I always am with new tuners who have little background, but he seems to have really educated himself and does things the right way. I'm pretty impressed with them. The only caveat is that the next closest AWD dyno to them is Nate's I think, so we don't really know how "accurate" it is. Regardless, that's an impressive turbo setup. I wonder if the cost of the TwinScroll GT32 is significantly more than most externally wastegated GT30 setups?

I remember reading a long time ago that the GPMoto kit was in the $7k range, although that included everything, like turboback and fmic. The car in this setup had a tmic I believe.

Who will be the first STi in the group to go with a bigger turbo? My money is on Nick :)

Nick Koan 2005-02-03 03:09 PM

Scott@S-S already has a GT30-10 (and he may go to a GT30-12 soon).

I would have to agree with you there.

The real question is: will this work on a 2.0L, or will I have to wait till I can afford an STi block?

It will work fine, but it will spool about 25% later... that's rule of thumb for every turbo. A turbo makes however much torque it makes at a given volume of air flow; the bigger your engine, the less RPM it requires to move that much air.
