Rally Cross

I'm in contact with Matt Decker of the Reno Region SCCA. He's trying to start up a Reno rally cross program, and is looking for interested particpants.

If you're interested, please reply in this thread! I'll point Matt here to see what kinda of help he can expect. Let's get these Subies off-road!!

AFAIK, Rallycross is generally run on soft dirt as opposed to gravel, specifically to reduce the chance of paint damage.

Stockers w/ re-92's or snow tires is a good idea.

AtomicLabMonkey 2003-05-14 09:51 AM

I'd sign up for a go at that in your car, Scott.

I dont think I could do that to my car any more but I might I think I saw some replica OEM rear bumper for a like 100$ someware.

I would love to Rally Cross. I do have reservations about screwing up my car... I have never seen one so I don't know quite what the risk is.

I talked with the Rally Cross guy again at Wednesday's SCCA meeting. He's been pretty busy lately, so the rally corss planning's been slow. I guess there's like 4 venues being looked at for the event right now. So it may not happen right away, but I think it will happen!

The cool thing about Rally Cross is that it can be held in rain and snow if the ground's not too soft! It'd be pretty sweet if we can run rallycross in the autocross off-season! Winter league! Unfortunately, JC will miss that since he's got to be back in school... :x
