Hey Matt,
Have you heard of any problems with the brakes on the Titan. I have heard from three people that they wear out really quickly.
My boss has had his Armada for 8 months now and he just got the brakes turned/replaced for the 4th time. When he talked to the Mechanics at Nissan they said, "That's nothing my boss has had his done * number of times." My boss asked about a recall, but nothing yet. This might be something to be aware of.

Brent also has a friend that traded in his Titan, because of this problem.

I'm not trying to convince no to get a Titan, they are freakin sweet. Just wanted you to be aware. I'm figuring that replacing the brakes altogether with a differant system, would alliviate this problem.

BTW are you saying that you get your truck at the end of march? :D

Yeah, I heard about that on the '04's. I read that they went to a beefier set up on the '05's. It could still be an issue though.

IMO most "brake issues" are due to people that don't know how to drive... esp. on larger vehicles. The Titan issue was one of those "these brakes are warped" things, wasn't it?

My dad had the T-Bird's brakes replaced under warranty 3 times because they "warped" a lot. My Dad also tended to drive the car in perpetual stop-n-go traffic everyday... he'd drive 20 miles never letting off the brakes... just letting up enough for the car to roll a little, then stop, and repeat.

Once I got the car I put 30,000 miles on it with out an issue... well 'cept for that time I had to stop halfway down Mosquito Ridge because the brakes were faded and smoking. But they never "warped" once.

If you use the brakes properly (solid, even braking, followed by time to let them cool.. which precludes tailgating the guy in front of you), you won't get the deposits that people call "warped rotors".

My Dad is the parts manager over at Nissan of Reno and he told me the first problem was that people wearing down the pads and Nissan didn't have replacements in inventory fast enough to meet the demand. The 04 Titan/Armada's that come into the service dept experiencing such problems should be getting the 05 upgraded components...... I think. If this seems inaccurate, I can call him and he can give detailed info.
